This all comes with one big, important caveat, however. While I appreciate the ceramic burrs, and while it may be true that they stay sharp longer than stainless steel, as I've heard more than once, they do not do as good of a job as the steel burrs on my Zassenhaus. For the same grind setting on both, I tend to get many more disappointing large fragments of coffee beans with the Porlex, and yet the Aeropress brew I make still isn't as clean as is made with the Zassenhaus. Overall, the actual taste of the coffee made with the Zassenhaus is noticeably better (but by a small amount, to be clear): sweeter and more prominent in characteristic flavor notes

I was able to produce a good pull with 1.9.5 as an initial setting with fresh espresso beans. Works great, tastes great, was the right model for me as the burrs between all three Kinu models are the same and the difference lies in plastic on superficial areas at the top/bottom of grinder

After all, I'd rather have inconsistent grinds from good coffee brewed to my standards than either no coffee or (perhaps worse) awful coffee!

This grinder feels sturdy and well built. It is easy to adjust the grind size too. Minus one star because I found it rather challenging to grind some beans. The roaster I purchase my beans from tend to be on the harder side so it's a struggle for me

3) the grind is very uneven. the burr is loose, not fixed, and chunks of beans get stuck here and there. i was really really surprised about this. i see that other people rigged cardboard/glue solutions, but that seems almost insulting for a grinder of this price & of this nice stainless build
