While these are the pygmy cousins to the ginormous tower speakers of that era, they are hardly the teeny-tiny BlueTooth speakers that are all the rage now. They have a stylish look and fill up a mid-sized room with no problem; again for the power rating of 60 watts pretty decent overall. The compact size allows you to find a spot for them pretty easily and doesn't require a heavy duty wall mount if you choose to do it that way.

I tried the foam plugs for the bass reflex port in the back and positioning in/out from the walls, but the bass remained very woolly and not tight at all. Pairing with a subwoofer and having most of the bass go to the subwoofer cleans the sound signature up a little bit but the overall sound quality lacked detail and definition. The SONY CSS5 at $78-$128 per pair outperforms this $499-$599 speaker easily in definition, detail and instrument separation.

small, well finished, veneers look nice, and the grills are magnetic and easily removed for cleaning (not dust catching fabric either!). The sound to me is warm and rich. While I do have a subwoofer, the bass out of these little guys is substantial and would do fine on it’s own if you were to use them in a small shelf stereo. I’ve watched a lot of TV and listened to a lot of tunes through these already and I can’t tell you how impressed I am
