Ikea isn’t the first company to try to blend a speaker with wall art but it might be the most successful, thanks in no small part to Sonos’s audio and software magic and a comparatively low price.

You don’t need one sl for rears unless you really hate the IKEA symfonisk bookshelves at £89 (plus £10 for the wall Mount) They sound 90% as good as the One Sl in terms of regular stereo speakers, but like 99% as good in terms of being a rear speaker.

I just got the Ikea symfonisk lamps as surrounds and they are awesome. They also are more living room friendly aesthetically.

I read that they may be discontinued, so prices are dropping.

I use 1s for the rears one room and I use the Ikea Symfonisk bookshelf speakers in the other. If you’re just using them as rear channel surrounds, there is no perceivable difference imho, especially if you have a sub picking up the bottom end. I personally prefer the look of the IKEA ones. IKEA also sells some Sonos picture frame speakers which seemed intriguing, but not worth breaking down my current set up.

The Ikea Symfonisk is a Sonos speaker w/o Alexa built in so primarily a wifi/Bluetooth speaker.
