iRobot Roomba e5 vs Roborock S7

We’ve had the Roborock S7 for 7 weeks on our main floor which is all hardwood and a few area rugs. I’m currently trial running several auto-empty vacs for our upstairs which has our 4 bedrooms and all carpet. Currently a few weeks into the Roomba S9+ with empty bin and let me just say… while it does a good job picking up on our low rise carpet, the app and technology feels about 5 years behind the Roborock tech and app. If anyone cares about specifics feel free to ask but I’m constantly surprised how poor the app and tech work

I had a Samsung Powerbot originally and the Roomba definitely out suctions the Powerbot. I live on a ranch so we get a lost of dust in the house I can tell the Roomba is picking up quite a bit of the dust and debris on the floors. I have it on a schedule to run everyday and the bin is full everyday (again aside from the hair/fur issue).

Waiting for this thing to break down which probably won’t be a long time from now so I can purchase a upgraded eufy. Roborock suction isint that great either. I recently ordered a replacement battery for my eufy because the Roborock wasn’t doing a good job and put them to work at the same time for the same amount of time and looked at which one collected more dirt and take a wild guess which one did it better. Yep the less then $200 4 year old eufy

It's important to make sure you keep the bumper clean. While the e5's light-touch bumper technology helps it to identify when it's approaching an object, the area around the sensor gets dirty quickly, which keeps it from working properly. After only two cleaning sessions, I noticed the vacuum was bumping into furniture and walls because the bumper was dusty. To prevent this from happening, make sure to wipe it with a wet cloth before each cleaning session

This thing vacuums so much faster and better than the irobot and the mopping feature is amazing compared to the braava m6. It mops and scrubs stains the m6 couldn't in a faster time.

Not only is it a Roomba, but it might be the cheapest option overall. Not on sale it's $850, which is right inline with everything, and even cheaper than several. Specifically, cheaper than Samsung's new AI robot, and even cheaper than the Roborock with self emptying.

Theyre just better, for less money

The self emptying is key. I only have to replace the bag every 3 months instead of dumping the vacuumed junk into the garbage.

The Roborock S7 has exceeded my expectations plus some! I went from sweeping everyday to about once a week. The mopping function leaves a bit to be desired but thats expected. Overall, this vacuum does what it’s meant to do which is make my life easier. I select which rooms I want cleaned and it does the rest

I would characterize Emily as moderately loud - it'd be annoying to do a phone call or watch a movie while she's running, but having a conversation in the same room is no problem, and my cat doesn't seem overly bothered by her. She does get louder on hard floors than on carpet. Overall, if you're expecting a smart robot that will strategically clean your entire home and then go back to its base in a logical fashion, this is NOT the robot you want. Emily supports one scheduled start on each day of the week, so she's actually doubling as my alarm clock, which is a fun bonus

I tried the roborock s7 and between it not being able to back of its own dock, being obsessed with ramming into its own dock, getting stuck anytime it hit anything, not picking my anything off the carpet, it had air vents on the side (which I wasn’t used to coming from roomba) that sounds like a jet engine no matter what the speed setting was. I was already annoyed and the sound of a mini jet engine going through the house sent me over the edge in frustration! Am I to expect the same thing from the Deebot t8?

The Roomba is race car, driven by an idiot. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the design of the machine itself. But the programmers need to be slapped in the face. Or somewhere lower down, preferably

This is not true. If you want your Roborock S7 to perform multiple passes in some or all rooms, YOU will have to do so manually in the app. This is not something that can be done via the Schedule-Menu as of 2022-03-22. Bin design is SMALL: if you have the auto-empty base it will not matter, but if you buy this as a stand-alone unit you will notice the need to empty it
