I have it going every other night, have zone marked (via app) so that it won't go near my cat's litterbox and accidentally drag poop across the rest of my floor. The self emptying is key. I only have to replace the bag every 3 months instead of dumping the vacuumed junk into the garbage.

It does a reasonable job of cleaning bare floors, though it can struggle with pet hair on this surface type and has trouble clearing bulky debris like cereal as its dustbin fills up. Performance on low and high-pile carpet is also only mediocre. Still, it feels well-built, maneuvers itself decently well, and charges very quickly

I have a roomba e5 for 2 years now. When I try to charge it this happens. I have gotten a new charging base,(and now the green light stays lit on the base) placed a new battery, cleaed the contact's.

My wife wanted this to keep up with day-to-day sweeping of our first floor, which consists entirely of tile or wood floors. She sets it to run during the day. We have a relatively open floor plan and also are very diligent about not leaving things on the floor. We have no floor lamps, cords, drapes ...

Senses when bin is full and goes back to base automatically (though others can be set to do this every 30 mins and this likely isn't an issue for me/my space). Cons: No mop attachment. No LIDAR scanning, just a camera and object recognition. Needs a bag for the self empty base.

I love the e5 when it works and does wonders with my dog’s hair, but I am to the point of just throwing it away and looking at other brands because of this issue. Checked contacts, removed and reconnected the battery, but everything is ok. Any further thoughts before giving up on it? To make matters works, iRobot service apparently is terrible in my country so not high hopes for that route either.

The Roomba is race car, driven by an idiot. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the design of the machine itself. But the programmers need to be slapped in the face.
