For the test I used the GW4 44mm BT and a Hammerhead Karoo 2 bike GPS paired with a Garmin chest strap to track distance, elevation, speed and heart rate. The ride data from my Karoo 2 was first uploaded to Strava, then synced to Samsung Health. The result show that the GW4 was very consistent with the data tracked by the Karoo 2 and Garmin chest strap. For some reason the graphs for the Karoo 2 are very smoothed out in Samsung Health, but I think this happened when the data synced from Strava to Samsung Health because the graphs do not look like that on Strava

The latter was great with the technology, but covered many different modes of transportation. I imagined that Wahoo or Hammerhead would "understand" the needs of the cyclist better. But ultimately, it was my experience with Garmin and the reviews of others that made me pick the Edge 530. So to be fair, I cannot compare it with the offerings from Wahoo or Hammerhead, and can only speak for this unit

My Tiagra groupset is definitely not "optimized." What would you call cable-actuated hydraulic disc brakes? Maybe irrelevant since performance-wise they just add weight.

I've made the transition from a quadlock mount to the Garmin Edge 530 simply because my mount broke off while riding the cobbles (as Belgian it's part of my identity so I don't avoid them). The small arm simply couldn't hold the weight of a large smartphone during heavy vibrations.

Also I don't need to know when I have arrived because I have arrived. If I am routing to mike's burger shop when I am standing in front of a shop that says mike's burger shop I don't need you to tell me I am there.

I am also able to see my distance, average speed and cadence while using my trainer to the cold months ahead. Overall very happy with the product, and the seller Bike A Mile, I didn't need all the fancy bells and whistle of the higher end models. the product arrived early and without issues
