I found myself frustrated with Android's inconsistency and lack of uniformity with its UI design. I switched to a Google Pixel 5 in hopes that it would be better, since Google made the phone.

There's at least a clear distinction between "Samsung app" and "everything else," although this also means their theming and customization features work really well in some places and really poorly in others. Still, Google could probably do a better job with their apps given that they also have a lot of influence in the design language of third-party Android apps.

I may have a very unpopular opinion, but I'd like to see Windows Phone return.

I now realize that the issue I have is with Android itself, with material design. I also am now finding myself beginning to hate Google apps, such as Gmail, Calendar, Home, etc., for the lack of integration compared to Apple's ecosystem.

I wish Microsoft would rebuild Windows Phone OS based on Android, and just start a new OS with better uniformity, integration, and based on their Fluent Design.

I'd switch to Apple's ecosystem if it weren't for the ridiculous price it would cost for me to switch back...

Remembered this thread from a few weeks ago. Just noticed something else. I have in a row on my home screen: Clock, Phone, Messages, Contacts, Settings. All default Google apps that are blue, but they're aren't even all the same shade!

It's actually kind of mind-blowing that Google still doesn't have a consistent theme in place. I hate using Google apps (phone, messages) and still seeing switches that are not the theme color I chose in Wallpapers &amp; Styles.

 I think it's a very capable phone with a ton of capability and the future of this thing is bright. You know it may not last as long as the Google Tensor chipset devices like the Pixel 6 and 6 pro, but I think this phone is at a very interesting spot. I think the future of this device looks great and I'm excited for it for sure. If you have the money, go for the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro, but I think this thing is a very capable machine for sure, so that kind of covers it

 Now you do have a 90 Hertz panel on it too, which I am completely here for. 120 hertz would have been really, really cool, but in 2020 really the main people who were doing 120 Hertz was Samsung. There were obviously other you know, like oneplus and everybody else. but 90hz is so good, especially for this thing not being like a you know 1000 phone

 Again, could it be better? Could it have reverse wireless charging those types of things? Absolutely. But I still think the way this phone is situated now makes this battery life pretty decent in my opinion. You know better on the you know, more on the better things for sure. And ultimately I think the Google Pixel 5 is still completely worth it in 2022

 I had a really good battery life on this thing as well and even now when I you know pick it up, I do have Android 12 on it. I plan on installing Android 13 once it comes in like a pretty stable beta. Maybe it'll be better in battery life. I'm not 100 too sure, but I think as of right now the battery life on this device is a very very good pro of this device too

That'S not bad, but it would have been nice to see some improvements over last year: [, Music, ] overall, the galaxy s22 ultra is really a successor to the galaxy note. 20 ultra sure it does have some things in common with the s21 ultra, especially when it comes to the camera, but in terms of what sets this phone apart from the other galaxy s22s, the design, the giant screen and the included stylus, are a big part of That, in other ways, the galaxy s22 ultra is just an iterative update on the galaxy s21 ultra sure it has a new processor, a fresh design and faster charging and samsung did deliver on its promise to improve low light photography. But those camera upgrades are kind of incremental plus you can also get them on the s22 and s22 plus the photography improvements are much appreciated, but they're, probably not enough to get pro photographers, really excited about this phone again

 Although this photo i took doesn't have as much detail compared to the ultra's photo. You also might be wondering how the galaxy s22 ultra stands up against the competition. The s22 ultra was better at taking pictures of people than the pixel 6 pro, but google's phone was able to focus better on still objects, even though the picture was darker overall, the iphone 13 pro, on the other hand, was better than the s22 ultra when shooting Still objects but not low light portraits.  In other words, samsung's older phones were able to improve brightness through the pixel binning process, but they weren't able to combine that with the detail from the main sensor. That'S changing with the galaxy s 22. Lineup. To put these claims to the test, i took several photos with the galaxy s22 ultra and the galaxy s21 ultra

 The subject looks crisper and there's a lot more detail, but and had a harder time focusing on still objects in the foreground, like this stack of books. These night photography changes also apply to the regular s22 and s22 plus, but since the ultra has a higher resolution, main camera that works to its advantage, still the cheaper galaxy s22 plus also takes decent photos in the dark. The same goes for the adaptive control of the refresh rate of the AMOLED display. Even though Samsung promises between 1 and 120 Hz, the lowest refresh rate is much higher at 24 Hz. So there is still some work to do for Samsung here as well, particularly since there continue to be some stutters in the system, which hasn't improved much until now even after two updates. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a powerful piece of technology the competitors will have to be measured against, even if not everything runs smoothly in the beginning yet

Verdict - Samsung still has some work to do

 But photos from the 3x zoom in good lighting look excellent — pets and humans alike. It can still get tripped up on some details, but it gets a lot right, even wispy hair and glasses.
