Ernie ball music man stingray HH. I have a 2006 and had it since 2008. It’s active and the best bass I’ve ever owned in terms of playability and versatility. Can’t recommend it enough

I got this bass as a gift. When I first played it I could not believe how great it was. The set up out of the box was perfect, and the strings really complimented the bass well. Playability is great and the neck feels smooth

Very solid bass! I am not extremely experienced with basses, as I bought this as a beginner bass. However, it has a really great sound to it, and the quality feels nice. It is very fun to learn and play on. Only problem is that it arrived very much in need of a setup, and that setup cost a lot

The special has such an amazing mid range that means it will fit in the mix much better and has a more vintage tone. I absolutely adore it but I can't afford it yet so instead I'm using a Sterling with the treble cut and pressure wound strings to emulate it. Imo though the stingray special can do the classic stingray sound easily plus more sounds in a way other models can't do as well.

something i first noticed was the sustain. something i had not gotten with cheap basses over the years. i prefer to put flat wound strings on (almost) all of my basses. i was in a Guitar Center or some such a few years ago, picked up a bass with flats on it, and i instantly fell in love with how they felt on my fingers
