 Well, this is going to be the part where the video starts to get subjective. Everybody hears sound differently, everybody has a different room, and everybody has different likes and dislikes when it comes to audio, so I can't say for sure if you'll like this receiver or not. With that said, personally, I was very pleased with the sound of this receiver. It had a very smooth and laid-back sound that I tend to prefer, while at the same time it still had plenty of detail and liveliness

Is this the NEW BUDGET ATMOS RECEIVER KING from Costco? | DENON AVR-S750H AV Receiver REVIEW!

Boy was I wrong. I just picked up a Denon AVR-S750H earlier this week for around $550. Oh my God.

This is your PSA to buy a new receiver if you have one that "works ok"

Don't like it because Denon removed the input / outputs , So you're locked into a Denon with NO share but bluetooth. You have one input on this device with NO outputs for other devices

. this Denon unit is very widely recommended, but it's an expensive pile of garbage at the moment.

 While there is about 8 months left on the 2 year Denon warranty, it's going to cost me >$100 to ship it to the nearest authorized service center whereupon they may or may not decide it's covered by the warranty. The service center said if it's determined to be covered by warranty, they'll likely just send me a refurb unit. If it's not covered by warranty, the service will cost me between $100-200 and may take several months, plus I'll be on the hook for return shipping. At which point I could have probably bought a new, more reliable unit

HDMI output died after 16 months

 Um, so here's the front of it. We've got cable bluetooth game heroes and then we've got our different sound modes: the master volume, the source input selector, zone one or two on or off the source for zone one or two tuners, presets for your radio band mode, dimmer, and status. This features the Odyssey multi Eq, so you can plug in the microphone and fine-tune this receiver to your room. It's also got built-in bluetooth and airplay, so if you have an iphone, it automatically will find it on if it's connected to the Wi-fi in your house and you don't need anything else, anybody who comes over can pair their phone

 You have the ability to hook up seven speakers so of course front, two, left, and right, the center for the front, the surround rear, left, and um, right and then even the height, rear, and height left speaker outputs. so that is a quick look at the Denon receiver. If you guys have any questions, go ahead and leave them down below. Let me know your thoughts and opinions

 We have the antenna for the Fm radio. Our subwoofer output are video inputs and outputs Monitors digital audio in coaxial, odd optical. I would say just go with optical for everything network cable if you needed that and then we can. Also, this has Hdmi pass-through so we can just route our Hdmi devices into here and then shoot it out with the monitor cable

 I think I paid about 300 refurbished on Denon's site and I just want to go over some of the features here. I have it paired on um, these Bose Acoustimass, 10s and it's really cool because this denim system has its own user interface and it supports Internet radio, Siriusxm, Pandora, Alexa, Amazon, I mean Google Home. all that good stuff is built right into that receiver and I found on the web alexa stop so we can hit this kiosk music and that's what's um, the system that's built in. it has it on most Denon products and I would really say this is a game changer for the receiver guys

It’s just over $1000 I think but the Onkyo NR7100 is 9.2 channel, has Dirac live which is way ahead of XT32 room correction and way more flexible, and far better value per dollar than the equivalent Denon. 

Well I finally convinced my wife that a good receiver was worth spending money on. 

Pro-tip: My tactic is to talk non stop for a week about the awesome $1600 model so that I finally compromise with her for the $800 model. This works for tools, guns, computers, and fish-tanks too! It's been about 30 years and she still hasn't caught on 😄

*So* I picked up the Denon AVR-S960H, in stock at Best Buy for $750.

This replaces a 10 year oold Sony model that didn't have fancy bells &amp; whistles like HDMI 2.1, Audessey, etc.

If you had a choice to replace the Denon with any other model under $1000, would you? And which would it be? I just want to be sure I've made the right choice before the return period expires. 

The Denon seems nice, and I've paired it with a new dream speaker set up of Klipsch RP series, including RP180f, RP450c, RP250s, and SPL-150. 

It's heavenly, and my wonderful wife listened for a couple minutes to some movie magic and music and said "wow, I get it. Sounds great." It was very rewarding, like introducing someone to steak when they've eaten hamburger-helper for years. I know there's lobster too but I'm not rich!

I bought the 8K model because I want to play 4K games at 120hz on my LG C9 (OLED rocks) when I can finally score a 3080 or lol 4080. But do I NEED to go through the receiver? It seems like I would want to go through the receiver, otherwise to access the menu I'd have to switch inputs just to access the menu to change bass settings - gosh I just want more knobs 😐 The HEOS app wouldn't detect the set so I couldn't use it yet, need to troubleshoot.

*Anyway*, so what other receiver should I consider in this price range. I can't go higher than one grand. She has her limits and I need to leave room in the wallet for good bourbon 😇

Recommendation to replace Denon AVR-S960H

 I think it's 24 or 28 gigabits per seven per second, so we'll leave it at 4k enhanced, so that'll get the 4k uh 60 um up to the um, all the hdr formats. So we won't put that at 4k, enhanced right so we'll leave that there and i'm not sure why phono is on 4k enhanced, i'm not sure yeah. I can't turn it off, but that's very important guys so make sure you do this now, also guys when i first turned it on uh. It says: welcome and all that stuff, but also a firmware update, popped up right away

 This is, if you want the audio of your source, to pass through the receiver to your tv speakers um sure i think that's a good thing. Yeah absolutely leave that on because now every time i want to have my receiver on, i want to use my tv speakers. So this way the the sound passes through the receiver to your tv speakers, so they can be used uh when you want uh e-arc. Of course is on uh lipstick

 Oh that's amazing! So if this honky was in my home theater, i would definitely get my clip speakers set up to it but um, but for eclipse owners out there a huge, plus and win to get this onkyo, because it's gon na be matched with your clip speaker. So huge huge props to unkill for putting that in that's amazing, um yeah. So that's that distance, of course, is going to be. You know how many feet for speaker to listening position level calibration whoa boy, it's gon na get loud, i think, hold on [ Music

 So i would probably turn this on to [ Music ] uh, i'm gon na, say 30 min uh, i'm gon na say an hour. So if it doesn't have any signal for an hour, it'll turn off automatically unit. While i can off in no signal so turns off automatically, if no signal that'll, no, no, no, not necessarily uh, let's see usb power turn that off network standby on. So if you want to, you know, play music through the onkyo from your app like turn on

I love this AVR. Onkyo TX-NR7100 - Setup and Menu Overview.

These are a class above the Klipsch.  The tightness of the bass without any sacrifice for high end.  Stupidly good value for money.  I cannot recommend enough

I'll try to give Onkyo a call tomorrow and see if they can help - I'm sure they'll blame it on the brand new Samsung UST projector and Samsung will blame it on the Onkyo.  My 10 year old Denon that was 1/3 the price and used audessey for room correction sounded both better AND louder than this $1100.00 boat anchor
