I've looked pretty extensively at the best value purifiers in terms of cost to CADR rato and found the winners to be the Coway Mighty AP-1512HH (note: NOT the AirMega) and the Blue air 211+. These models get high ratings from consumer reports and Wirecutter as well. I have 2 of the mighties for our bedrooms and a 211+ for our living room and have been happy with them. 

Looking for some personal recommendations from people running air purifiers in there home because im looking to buy one. Any advice or feedback is welcome

Edit2: Im looking for the best model possible for HEPA filtration and a carbon solution for gas/VOC/odor. that would hopefully work for most of the house. I will eventually add another unit or two to supplement. I&#39;m trying to find the top of the line, best of the best air purifier. Something that blows the competition out of the water and has a solid warranty and build quality. High purchase price is okay.

I also like that it's compact and has a nice sleek look to it. It blends into the decor and I'm really glad it's not black

Noticeable improvement

 I keep mine in "auto" mode and that really works - if any type of particulate matter is introduced to the room (like cigar smoke, for instance) the unit goes into high gear until the air is clean again. I am quite pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend this product.

Basically, the first one is a washable screen which is really nice, that filters out all the big dust, particles and stuff and that never have to change. You just have to pull it out once a month or so clean it off vacuum it off

I researched air purifiers for some time before deciding on the Winix 5300-2. Initially I was trying to find something to help with me daughters seasonal allergies. I am very please with it. I love all the setting options

 Seeing that reassures me that this is a good product. It has helped with my daughters allergies and just in general the quality of the air we are breathing now. It picks up on other odors and clears it right up. Since my purchase, my sister and my mom have both bought one and are very happy as well

  I'm practically throwing dust at it and nothing.  Light stays blue as if the air is perfectly fine while I'm wearing a dust mask to help prevent sneezing fits.  I mean I didn't expect instant results, but c'mon, this is just pathetic that it never even kicks it into gear to get started.  If it's on anything like me, Neum or low, you can't even hear it like, you can put your ear up to it and barely hear it on low. If it's on higher turbo, you may hear it if you're, maybe like more, you know closer than about five feet, ten feet, maybe on turbo, but the thing is: is it never really runs on turbo it'll run on high for a while, when you first put it Into your house, while it cycles the entire air inside your home, but then it'll automatically turn itself down because it senses less debris in the air too low and very rarely ever goes over that, maybe if you're cooking or smoke or something like that, it'll move back Up to medium, but 99 % of the time it's going to be in low whisper, quiet mode, the plasma wave technology it has, I guess, work so, okay, I leave it on all the time. Review Winix 5300-2 Air Purifier 2020

 Should you want to buy this unit? The second big negative for this unit is the fact that its carbon filter is a fiber filter that is only coated with carbon. Now this is extremely common in the air purifier world. Most units on the market have the same type of carbon filter. It'S a fiber based filter, that's coated with carbon

 However, we do recommend that you run it on the turbo fan, speed at least initially to lower particle concentration initially, and then you can run it on lower fan speeds. After that, we also like the fact that this unit has four fan speeds that gives you the option to set it to. Whichever fan speed is at a comfortable noise level. As the fan speed goes up, the noise level goes higher, so with the ability to set that fan, speed to those four different speeds, you're able to set the fan speed exactly the noise level that you can actually tolerate

 Those carbon pellets have much greater surface area, they are much better for absorbing gases and if you are somebody that is concerned about VOCs, if you're concerned about odors and any type of gas contaminant in the air, you definitely want to take a close look at that Unit compared to this unit, this unit is definitely not as good of an option for gas filtration the 5500 and the 5300 that we have here today are very similar units. Otherwise they both are exactly the same size, they're very similar weight. They both share the same control panel. It really is just that carbon filter that is different

 What we like about this unit, we really like its high output at 250. Cfm. This unit is a viable option for not only small rooms but large rooms as well in smaller rooms, you're going to run it at lower fan speeds at a very high energy efficiency and with very low noise output in larger rooms. You can run it on those lower speeds as well

Winix 5300-2 Review

This is the nicest air purifier ever!!!! Runs quiet and automatically adjusts depending on how hard it needs to work. Very easy to clean with removable filters. Yes filters!!! 3 of them!!! I could tell the difference in my great room immediately after turning it on. This is the one so don't hesitate
