I've looked pretty extensively at the best value purifiers in terms of cost to CADR rato and found the winners to be the Coway Mighty AP-1512HH (note: NOT the AirMega) and the Blue air 211+. These models get high ratings from consumer reports and Wirecutter as well. I have 2 of the mighties for our bedrooms and a 211+ for our living room and have been happy with them. 

Looking for some personal recommendations from people running air purifiers in there home because im looking to buy one. Any advice or feedback is welcome 

Edit: my house is 1600 sqft, open floor plan, single story. 2 occupants, no pets, dust/seasonal allergies.

Edit2: Im looking for the best model possible for HEPA filtration and a carbon solution for gas/VOC/odor. that would hopefully work for most of the house. I will eventually add another unit or two to supplement. I&#39;m trying to find the top of the line, best of the best air purifier. Something that blows the competition out of the water and has a solid warranty and build quality. High purchase price is okay.

Noticeable improvement

 I keep mine in "auto" mode and that really works - if any type of particulate matter is introduced to the room (like cigar smoke, for instance) the unit goes into high gear until the air is clean again. I am quite pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend this product.

 So this is what I'm attempting to show through this demonstration. It switches on here, via this switch and touch-sensitive panel on the top of the air, purifier, nice and clear and bright, and it has five different power levels selected by the purification selection switch here. It automatically defaults into 3, which is the general level, but can go up to 4, which is allergens, 5 maximum and we'll start here on the sleep mode. So this is the noise level when you're about 4 feet away from it

 They are not HEPA filters, but they are filters nonetheless. So the air moves through all of that. It then moves through the front of the unit, so the air then moves through the front of the unit and it moves through two outlets. There'S two rectangular outlets, one on the bottom, one on the top

 Most other air purifiers are going to distribute air out of the top of the unit and that's going to allow for better clean air distribution throughout a room and that's why those units are made that way. However, this unit prioritizes moving the air in a certain direction. So that users can use it as a fan and if that's something that you like, if that's something that you're interested in - and that is certainly a positive thing about this unit. What do we not like about this unit by far the biggest problem we have of this unit is the fact that it is not equipped with HEPA filters

 The manufacturer does make certain claims and those claims make it appear as though the filter is capable of doing as much as HEPA or close to as much as HEPA. However, our testing has shown our research has shown that these permanent filters are simply not viable alternative to hepa filtration. If you are at all concerned about getting a high level of particle filtration in your air purifier, this unit will do it, but it will not do it nearly as well as a unit equipped with a HEPA filter. Finally, our last gripe with the unit is the fact that it is a little bit on the expensive side

 So compare this unit to other top-rated units on the market. We do like the fact that this unit can double as a fan. That is something that is going to be useful for a lot of users for a lot of use. Cases, however, like we said earlier in this review, the fact that you're not getting HEPA level filtration precludes that, yes, you are getting in appliance that is going to lower particle concentration in the room and is going to also double as a fan
