I love the design and attention to detail this watch has, plus the fact that if you change the strap to a brown leather or even fabric it can be matched with more casual wear. You can go higher and lower but what watch is spec’d like the Trident for under $800 or even $1000 for that matter that actually brings a fairly original design to bear? They’ve evolved past the baroque handset and derivative dials to something that is super clean, crisp and modern. And now that I have it on wrist I’m actually quite blown away by the level of fit and finish. So that’s how we got here.

In the end, for me, it felt more my style than a sub and has a bit more unique character to it. My favorite element is the contrast between the matte dial and the gilt shiny hands and marker surrounds.

I swapped out the OEM leather strap for a Barton Silicone Elite band since I got a better fit and I dig the black on black. Shame that the lume on this thing is not that great but I can live with it.

After seeing the Tudor Black Bay 58 on social media I had to go into an AD and see one for myself. Went to the closest AD and found one on their nato strap, tried it on, and fell in love! But I did not buy it on site. I had to try it on the bracelet before pulling the trigger.
