Also, having IBIS (in body image stabilization) is really wonderful and just adds extra security knowing I will get sharp images taken. It also opens up the ability to have non-stabilized lenses without worry of out-of-focus images taken. Using this body with the new "Nifty 50" (RF 50mm f1.8 STM) which doesn't have IS has helped retain sharp images much more

No qualms about the camera picture quality. However, it is cheaply built. The on/off switch snapped off and I was just a couple of months past my 1 year warranty. It had minimal use

I currently have a Lumix G7 which is absolutely awesome for video, have used it for about 5 years no complaints. However, for the past year or so i've been leaning more and more towards photography instead and that's where i find the G7 to be a bit lacking, especially in low light situations.

The eye auto focus is so magical and makes portrait photography that much more freeing to create. Camera features and handling - 10/10.

On the left shoulder you'll find the drive-mode dial with options for time-lapse/stop-motion animation (this is one of the few cameras I've seen with a direct-access control for that); self-timer, exposure bracketing (up to seven shots in 1/3-stop, 2/3- and 1-stop intervals); the aforementioned 4K photo and 4K burst options; normal burst mode; and single-shot mode. That said, its battery life leaves something to be desired, as you can't use it while it's charging. Also, while it can shoot at a quick 11 fps in its high-speed continuous shooting mode, it takes a long time to empty its photo buffer if you manage to fill it up. Still, if you're looking for a low-light powerhouse, this is a great option that should suit most people, thanks to its fantastic noise handling, great autofocus, and comfortable ergonomics.

Battery life isn't bad. I can shoot for several hours on and off without changing batteries and leave the camera on during most of it. Aftermarket batteries are cheap and easy to carry. The built in mics aren't bad either if you can protect them from the wind

If you have a big budget get the EOS R6 with an EF adapter. Sell all of the EF-S glass and invest in a quality wide to normal (or telephoto) zoom like a 24-105.

You can see our full review for more information on the lens, but it's pretty typical for a bundled zoom. The lens is acceptably sharp throughout its range, although edges are soft at its widest angle. It's a mechanical lens, so it's a bit larger than power zoom alternatives like the Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm F3.5-5

i own that lens and find it to be excellent bang for the buck.

Between the two you've given though, I'd go for the Panasonic. It's better value, and if you don't need the weather sealing of the RX10, the built-in ND filter is a clear win for video footage (something that you don't get on a G80/90 + 14-140mm combination).

The lenses for Micro Four Thirds are relatively lightweight, so carrying my camera and lenses while hiking is a no-brainer for me. If I had a camera with a bigger sensor, like the Sony a7 IV or Canon EOS R6, I would have to compromise on something—be it versatility and usability, or the sharpness of the lens—to keep the pack weight as low. The sensor gets me all the performance I need for anything but edge cases which I work around easily enough, and the lenses I carry with me are all sharp and cover the range I need.
