Love them or hate them, electric bikes are here to stay, and Cannondale’s first go at a gravel-focused model was a huge success in our opinion. After spending some time on the Synapse NEO SE, we came away extremely impressed by the bike’s smooth acceleration, confidence-inspiring ride, and quality build. While the electric Synapse will only assist up to 20 miles per hour (similar to all class 1 e-bikes), this was enough of a grin-maker for even the most skeptical riders among us. You do pay a steep premium for the Bosch drive unit and 500Wh battery, but it’s a boon for daylong enjoyment on remote backroads.

As is the case with all e-bikes, the Cannondale’s battery and motor are very heavy (the Synapse NEO SE weighs in at a hefty 40+ pounds). If you plan to transport your e-bike with any regularity, it’s important to consider the weight limit of your rack and your ability to lift and load the bike. Another issue is power: if you run out of juice on the trail, it’ll be a slow and difficult ride back to your car. And finally, e-bike laws still are evolving and changing, so it’s important to know the rules before you head out.  Give me all the comfort i need when doing three or four hour rides. I, like the fact you have a two piece, aero handlebar and stem i like the shape of the tops and the drops and the bar tape is really comfy as well especially running out. Gloves when it's warm enough, which is at the moment crazy climate change uh to thank for that and on this bike to use the smart sense and particularly the radar, you use your own computer, either garmin or wahoo, which most are compatible now with the garmin vario Radar, low models use a device on a handlebars that doesn't have a computer, gives you a simple readout of a car approaching so different levels of technology based on your experience, but most people buying a bike of this price range, probably have their own computer, their own Preference for a computer so at least they haven't, given you a computer as standard with a bike, but maybe they could, in the future, develop their own or partner with garmin or wahoo or another brand, to give you a built-in computer, but is that a move too Far, probably we have been there before our bike's, giving a smart capabilities of bikes. So at least you have your own computer to fit to the bike

 Okay time. To sum up all my thoughts and observations of riding the new bike for the last two weeks into one concise, succinct verdict for you to take away today, only it's not so easy and there is a tale of two halves on a plus side. I love the performance of a new frame, the handling, the comfort, the speed, much faster than the old bike, much more engaging, much more dynamic to ride, and we have some nice details like an external threaded bottom bracket, a regular seat, post and semi internal cable routing. So those are all a win, but on the downside we have a technology that you can't remove from the bike and that wouldn't be a problem if the technology worked extremely well and worked as good as aftermarket solution

 So this new bike has some big shoes to feel and has it filled them? Oh, yes, it has. Oh, my goodness me, this bike is just phenomenal. What a package it's even faster, even more exciting, even more dynamic to ride. Yes, it's still just as comfy as the old bike, with the same relaxed geometry gives you a higher position than a race bike and a really short footage and planted in high speed situations

 But it's one that we, the cyclist editorial team, all agreed that cannondale synapse has always managed to deliver expertly. So the last time this particular synapse was updated was back in 2017 and that was tall intended purposes. Just a disc brake makeover for its predecessor, because, ultimately, that bike, which was launched back in 2013, was arguably quite a way ahead of its competitors. So something i think, cannondale has really done well with the design of the synapse, was the way in which it's interpreted the endurance sector, and i think what i mean by that is some of its competitors have maybe over egged that comfort element by having really tall Front ends very relaxed geometry, long, wheelbases and adding in those actual moving active suspension systems and so on, and what that can do if you're, not careful is always the danger of making your bike feel certainly heavier, but even a bit languid in its handling and responsiveness And ultimately, sort of robbing the bike of speed. And yet it's speed that most cyclists all measure themselves and compare themselves by whether that's giving a mate to kicking up the local climbs or getting a gold award in a grand, fondo or perhaps even just riding, to work faster

 I don't know, but here's that sweet spot, that we're looking for really well so there we have it. The cannondale synapse undeniably one of the most prevalent endurance, road bikes of the current era and one that we feel epitomizes this genre importantly not by following others, but by treading its own path and delivering what is expected of it in a clean and unfussy way. I know prices of bikes have gotten higher over the past few years, due to colvin and whatnot, and it's hard to get your hands on them, but for four thousand dollars, you're getting a really nice bike and for comparison from similar brands like giant you have the Tcr advanced two disc, which is thirty four hundred dollars, and you have the trek and monza sl5 uh disc, which is at 33 850. So those two options will be a bit cheaper compared to this one, but honestly out of the three they're all very similar performance wise, and it really depends on which one you prefer

 This bike does ride softer and i think that's because of the 26 millimeter tires, and i think these are running a bit lower psi um we're all off overall, first impressions. Oh this bike's, nice yeah handle is great corner, is great yeah. It'S a really good. All-Around bike: i feel it's a really good performing bike

It looks like, and that's basically it's carbon as well, so that allows you still to get some of that compliance from flexing for and aft and the carbon itself will dampen some of that really high frequency, chatter, and notably as you've probably come to expect from tarmac Frames at this point you have the drop seat, stays and that again aids in sort of that four aft flex, so that you get a lot of compliance in the rear that is going to come in handy because, typically, tarmac frames are very stiff, which is to Your advantage, that means it steers very sharply. It means that you can really get stand out of the saddle and get lots of power transfer when you're, climbing or sprinting things like that. It does come with a nice host of specialized components, including this power saddle and an aluminum handlebar and stem, which is nice for adjustability at this price range

2022 Specialized Tarmac SL6 review: Flagship performance, distilled

This is now the sixth generation tarmac and to bike that goes right back to a turn-of-the-century and in that time has been a repopulation racing to sport. Eve'S, just a really good, versatile, lightweight performance focus bike, and this latest bike is also the best looking bike. In my opinion, but more than that, it's lighter stiffer better handling and that's also an aerodynamic influence
