Breville Smart Waffle Maker vs Cuisinart WMR-CA Round Classic

Breville wins that I own: Smart Waffle, Immersion blender, Smart Oven, Smart Oven Plus (except for the air fryer being less than optimal). These are all amazing.

It still works to make waffles, but the base and handle is plastic and I wonder if it's going to break too. Good news: I called Cuisinart and with proof of purchase there was no problem for them to send me a new replacement. Hope the new one doesn’t break.

If this is a problem for you then I would advise getting the 2 slice model because I would believe it opens to a lesser height. It is also heavy and has a substantial footprint. If you spend this much money on a waffle maker you might want to proudly display it out on your countertop, but because of the moat that catches the expanding waffle batter it makes it have a very large footprint making it hard to justify giving it so much real-estate for such a speciality appliance. If you do choose to move it back and forth from cabinet or pantry to countertop just realize it is not the lightest thing in the world

even when we had it on the maximum heat setting. This new waffle iron works perfectly. Glad that Cuisinart keeps this product on the market because it's just the size for our needs.

It also has a countdown timer with digital display signals that will tell you when your waffle is done. This waffle maker is made with a brushed stain...

The nonstick coating is good and I usually only had to spray it with oil once for the first waffle and nothing would stick to it. However, here are the reasons I am giving it 1 star: 1) The done light is insanely inaccurate, particularly on the high settings. I usually had to wait an extra minute after it turned green before the waffle was really browned. 2) The lip around the edge of the waffle shape on the iron is too shallow allowing lots of batter to leak out instead of pushing the lid up which brings me to the next item

This waffle iron was insanely expensive. Good thing I'm rich. I could have gotten a waffle iron for 30 bucks, and here I paid .

Perhaps they could have designed that interface better, but hey - it works, I understand now why it feels loose, but it's just fine, and so I no longer care about that feature. I reassembled the unit and made breakfast. Yum! I recommend this iron, ESPECIALLY for the price! a definite bargain, in my opinion.

If you plug it in when you start collecting and mixing the ingredients, it will be hot before you are ready to pour the batter in. The timer and settings are simple, clear to see, and easy to use. You can see exactly how much time is left until the waffles will be ready, and it beeps when the timer hits zero, so if you're at the table eating one batch, you can hear when the next batch is ready. Made the first waffle, followed instructions, waited for the indicator to turn green, it was perfectly formed, did bit stick. Gave it to my husband to do a taste test and he said it tasted fine, the smell did not transfer over to the waffles. So I made the first batch and we ate them, it was so good! And so easy！I tried putting a little oil on the grills as well and it worked too so you can do that if you are afraid of the waffles sticking. But otherwise it doesn't burn as long as you follow the indicator light - pour in the batter when it is green, it'll turn red and take it off only when it turns green again

With that said, it cooks a great waffle, easy to use, and relatively small footprint consider that it makes 4 waffles. We have limited storage space and we're considering the 2 waffle, but then realized this is not much larger, and at the time was actually cheaper than the 2 waffle unit.

what the industry calls "traditional" waffles. It was a challenging finding a machine that didn't make those overwrought Belgian waffles! I find this machine very easy to use. You heat it up, pour in the batter, and it times the correct color waffle for you. It comes with directions and recipes and literally takes about 10 minutes from batter mixing to waffle eating

You can't really direct that batter, it escapes wherever it wants. Some products try and direct the batter into a bucket, which notoriously don't work...

Like most small waffle makers, it takes some experimentation to figure out how much batter to pour (it will overflow messily if you pour too much) and which temperature setting works best for your recipe and preferences (I currently have it one step below highest). And it does help to periodically hit the grids with some cooking spray to keep waffles from sticking. The maker says they've weighted the lid to help expanding batter flow into all areas of the grid. I say more weight would help
