 Now we've got a lot more natural flavor profile [Music] so now I'm just going to set quickly the temperature of my milk to the lowest setting. So by just clicking the button through, bring it down to one light on both, bringing the steam arm out, putting in the jug, making sure the jug is in and centered with the machine, I'm going to hit the steam and it should take about 38 seconds.  Personally, I actually do like this machine for who it's targeted for. What I will do though is just update the portal filter to a Pasado Portafilter that's a little bit more serious, a little bit more solid and stainless, and also their solid stainless tamper.  This machine is perfect, but let's dive into the machine and break it down from espresso to milk and the whole package and see if it's the right machine for you. Now who's this machine for? My biggest like about this thing is the milk steamer. The texture it achieves is fantastic and it achieves it consistently. I have drunk more lattes in the last couple months than I have my entire life. It's super fast and easy to clean

Don't do school, kids, stay in drugs

Portafilter leaks after five weeks || UPDATE replacement machine is even worse

  Here's what the happened with the Breville Bambino. My friend didn't have the right kind of coffee grinder for whole beans, so she bought a few ounces of beans at a Peet's Coffee and asked the barista to grind them to the consistency appropriate for making espresso. She brought it home, and we tried it with the Bambino and---nothing, almost no coffee came out, and what did tasted terrible. Even after making sure NOT to tamp down the coffee in the filter with too much pressure, the Bambino proved INCAPABLE OF 'EXPRESSING' A SINGLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO, GROUND TO ESPRESSO MAKING CONSISTENCY AT A PEET'S COFFEE coffee bean seller

What I don't like about this machine is that it simply will not make a decent cup of espresso--not by my tastes. (Note; the milk frothing tool is, however, great; But froth alone doth not a good cappuccino make.) I honestly don't know whether this is a defect in the individual machine I purchased, but I tend to doubt it: it will simply not generate enough steam pressure to make a decent shot of espresso, of the kind that a bigger, more powerful but even similarly priced machine will be capable of doing. Almost exactly a year ago I bought and ordered a Breville Infuser Espresso Machine (BES840XL/A )

 It works ok if you are certain to grind your beans coarsely enough, but at the expense of any decent flavor. We tried using the manual 'pull' feature that is included with Bambino, but to no real positive effect. But for the lack of counter space, I'd return this defective model and buy another, bigger Breville Infuser (BES840XL/A )--and for only another $20 or so, at that.  Lesson: I could be wrong about this, and the problem with the Bambino is a defect limited to the particular machine I purchased

SMALLER ESPRESSO MAKERS (not costing many hundreds of $) ARE BASICALLY USELESS

 I purge and run a blank shot to get the group head/portafilter warmed up before pulling an espresso shot and I can start doing that pretty much after turning it on. - Capable of pulling an excellent espresso shot (i.e. pump pressure and temperature control is good)

all i mean to say is, the breville bambino is underpowered and that single boiler machines will allow you to grind finer and extract more flavor.  so i do think you will notice a difference if you go to a more expensive machine.  

on my ecm classika i could brew with the beans at grind size 19.  on the breville barisata 870xl (slightly different model than yours but, effectively the same), i could only get it to brew at grind size 25.5.  and even then, on the machine's pressure guage, it was "max pressure"

It has been more than a year that I use the Sage Bambino plus with Eureka mignon. Really happy but I am tempted to go for something better. Rocket Appartamento and Lelit Mara X are some alternatives I have in mind. Is it worth it for home use? Will I gain more than consistency among shots ?

Is it worth it switching from Sage/Breville Bambino plus to Rocket Appartamento or Mara Lelit X?

 My older cheaper ugly Delonghi never had that problem. I'm hoping they can improve the design of the interior of the basket or the holder to better split the water. As for the price, it is not cheap; but with Starbucks' cappuccinos at $3.65 you'll start saving money within a few months

Great, good looking, strong compact machine

  We use it nearly every day while sitting in the Kitchen enjoying the morning.  Recommend using the Illy coffee to get the fragrance and taste of Italy.  Enjoy!

Great Machine

 We used the automatic setting, and placed the milk jug on the sensor so that the machine would know when the milk had reached the desired temperature. The noise level when the steam wand was in action was even lower than when we were making espresso, reaching 51 decibels while the milk was frothing. When we added the milk to our coffee, it retained a velvety texture that lasted all the way down our drink as we sipped it.&nbsp;

For our tests we used the same good-quality ground coffee that we&rsquo;ve used to make hundreds of cups of coffee with a French press, but we found that the Bambino Plus surpassed our expectations, and gave us a smoother and tastier cup of coffee. Note that you won&rsquo;t be able to grind beans with this machine as you can with Breville&rsquo;s pricier Oracle Touch machine.

The Bambino Plus heats up in three seconds, and you then press the appropriate button to choose between a one-cup or two-cup brew. Are espressos machines viable for home?

  On the positive side, I like the appearance of this machine. It definitely has a 'presence' on the kitchen counter (I also purchased the Rancilio grinder and the Rancilio storage base base). I think the major issue with this machine is that it gets into a price point where most of us expect more features and consistency. As many have pointed out, the machine CAN produce GREAT espresso, but it IS very inconsistent, and if you go through the whole cycle of temp surfing, it's a lot of work for a shot

The Silvia has the least frustrating of these, in temperature control - you can learn to "temperature surf". The pressure is right, the portafilter is the standard 58mm size, the steaming is pretty good, and so on.

So I kinda want to upgrade to an espresso kit at home, but I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.  

Right now, I mostly brew coffee using a surprisingly decent pair of shockingly cheap cuisinart products---a random $60 burr grinder (DBM-8) that they make, and a drip coffeemaker (DCC-3200).  When I want to get a little nicer, I break out the aeropress that I've had basically since they came out.  And honestly, I'm pretty satisfied with that setup---I'm very picky about the beans I use, and with high quality beans it seems to work pretty well for me.  So I keep kicking around the idea of upgrading to a proper pourover setup and deciding that the extra expense and trouble won't bring me *that much* better coffee to be worth it.

But espresso is a different story.  I'd really love to be able to make myself a capp at home.  But also, nothing's nastier to me than bad espresso. So if I'm going to do that, I'm going to do it right---which I guess means sinking a couple grand into equipment.  Which... I make enough money that I can afford that, but not enough that it wouldn't sting, you know?  I guess it pays for itself in a couple hundred drinks, but will I actually make a couple hundred drinks?

Having never pulled a shot before, I'm pretty hesitant to make that kind of commitment, to the expense, and to the effort (especially maintenance).  What if I hate making espresso at home, and then I end up with a pile of extremely expensive equipment moldering on my counter?  

Has anyone been in this kind of situation?  How do you tell if taking the plunge is a good idea?

I'm in a very major city (Chicago), so you'd think such a thing would exist... but I can't find one. (Possibly because covid?) So I'm kind of at a loss... all suggestions appreciated!

Forget the Add-ons for now..you don’t need to worry about mods till you’ve got your feet wet, and are comfortable with your daily process enough to know when something is off. My suggestion
