 Unfortunately it's too annoying to use. The smartphone app should be only for monitoring/viewing data and receiving alerts. Your phone should not be required to change any settings, lights, fans, etc. Until Blueair simplifies their control system for their products I'll be looking elsewhere

 So much for Swedish design elegance. I'll probably invest in some kind of LED attenuating adhesive plastic, or just put a strip of tape over it. Anyway, it's basically a great machine that seems to clear the air very well, but I think that the engineers geeked out over the controls, and currently there is no visible sign of support.

I have a few other Blueair purifiers, and the new 7470i seemed about right for my bedroom. I'm not sure how it would compare with other brands on objective tests, but subjectively its performance seems excellent. It's very quiet on the lowest setting -- I can barely hear the air flow, and the motor not at all. Moreover, my usual fall allergies are in check

 Other Blueair purifiers display a little blue button when they're on, which is annoying enough, but this thing -- I can practically read by it. How can it be an accident that Blueair's engineers chose a blue running light even though blue is the best color known to science for preventing sleep? No other color comes close. That's why many screens (cell phones, tablets) have settings for blue light abatement. So, that's one star down

Not Ready For Prime Time

Yesterday we had some a few people in to do work in the house and I set it on warp drive to capitalize on the HEPA filtering in these times of Covid. It is another line of defense in addition to masks, vaccinations, and distancing—especially when it is too hot or cold to open up and air out the house—when non-household members come inside.

 We had no trouble setting it up and it is easy to operate. We generally keep it set on auto and it does its thing when I am cooking or something blows in from outside. Different color lights indicate air quality and we can see that it clears things out fairly quickly.

Just What We Needed

 If this can be remedied with a firmware or app update, I'll gladly give the two stars back.  Air purification: We have a cat that uses the clumping litter, so some of the litter dust is inevitable in the house even with the 99.9% dust free litter from Dr Elseys. Our overall air quality isn't too bad, but since we spend most of the time inside the house (thanks Covid!) I thought this would help

 I opted to just keep it as it does not affect the function of the air purifier and didn't want to wait another month.  App/tech issues (docking 2 stars): Unless you want to just have it running on auto all the time and manually turn on/off the unit (you only have control over the fan speed (0-3 or auto), to fully utilize the unit, you will need to download the Blueair app. The app allows finer controls such as scheduling (an important feature), using night mode (dimming/turning off the lights on the unit), and tracking the air quality as measured by the unit. I managed to get the unit connected to our wifi using the app (wifi icon stays solidly lit), but it does not stay connected (longest was under 24 hours), and once it is disconnected, there is no way to reconnect through the app without removing the device from your account and adding it again

 This gets annoying after a while, and completely unacceptable for a device priced over $800. They really should work on getting this resolved. If this can be remedied with a firmware or app update, I'll gladly give the two stars back.  Seeing it turn red just raises my level of anxiety, especially when opening the house doors doesn't exactly remedy it. I will trust that the folks at Blueair know what they're doing with air quality.

Buggy Wifi interface that limits its usefulness

 I returned this and bought the Pro L instead. Fewer features but a lot more quiet and moves more air, that’s a win - win as far as I am concerned. Oh and since the Pro models are on now on sale it was cheaper too!!!

 They remove the dust, pollen etc.  No more hay fever sneezing. None, zero.  As an added bonus, my house which for some reason is a dust magnet is no longer dusty

 These units are new to the market so time will tell if Costco sells replacement filters.  Blueair customer service is in America so the reps are knowledgeable and speak well enunciated, articulate English. Well worth the money.

   The units are designed to run 24/7. The are solidly built with high quality materials. No cheap plastic, they are primarily made from a heavier gauge metal. The hidden wheels are a nice touch when moving the units

 Simple to set up, very easy controls. Excellent purifiers. They remove the dust, pollen etc.  No more hay fever sneezing

Exceptional Quality Air Purifiers

5 monitor in this unit is very accurate.  I've had this unit for a few months now and while I like a number of things about it, I'm very disappointed by the performance of the built-in particulate monitoring.  First, the good: the level 1 run setting is whisper quiet. Levels 2-3 are quite a bit louder but you're not going to move that much air without some noise so fair enough

 In addition to this unit's PMI monitor, I have indoor and outdoor PurpleAir sensors, as do many other folks in my area. What I noticed is that the readings on the PurpleAir were consistently 4-500% (!) higher than the 7770i. I relocated the purple air a number of times (right next to the 7770i, right next to the outdoor PurpleAir, etc.) and found my indoor, outdoor, and nearby PurpleAirs all to be very consistent while the 7770i was still drastically lower

  First, the good: the level 1 run setting is whisper quiet. Levels 2-3 are quite a bit louder but you're not going to move that much air without some noise so fair enough. The touch-panel controls are reasonably responsive and easy to use but I've found myself using the app far more frequently and it's very convenient.  Now, the bad

  I will admit that PurpleAir units are not calibrated so cannot be considered an ultimate source of truth but studies comparing them to calibrated EPA units have shown them to be consistent, albeit a little high. Even if I grant that the PurpleAirs read generally high, this still doesn't account for the drastically lower readings of the 7770i.  Also, I have contacted Blueair multiple times, waited over a month and have gotten nothing in terms of a response, hence my writing this review.  In short: if you care about the monitoring - buy a cheaper unit and a separate monitor!

UPDATE: BlueAir responded to my request and replaced my unit. And … the new unit behaves exactly the same! I’m just not convinced the PM2.5 monitor in this unit is very accurate.  I've had this unit for a few months now and while I like a number of things about it, I'm very disappointed by the performance of the built-in particulate monitoring

Good filter, wildly inaccurate PMI results

We live in the Central Valley in California, which is prone to dust from farming, fire smoke and pollution from the highway.  It’s like night and day in our house compared to being outside. Both kids have asthma and this product keeps them from coughing and from having asthma attacks at night. I just wish we’d bought it a lot sooner

I've looked pretty extensively at the best value purifiers in terms of cost to CADR rato and found the winners to be the Coway Mighty AP-1512HH (note: NOT the AirMega) and the Blue air 211+. These models get high ratings from consumer reports and Wirecutter as well. I have 2 of the mighties for our bedrooms and a 211+ for our living room and have been happy with them. 

Looking for some personal recommendations from people running air purifiers in there home because im looking to buy one. Any advice or feedback is welcome

Edit2: Im looking for the best model possible for HEPA filtration and a carbon solution for gas/VOC/odor. that would hopefully work for most of the house. I will eventually add another unit or two to supplement. I&#39;m trying to find the top of the line, best of the best air purifier. Something that blows the competition out of the water and has a solid warranty and build quality. High purchase price is okay.
