All the right features.  The carry is a bit odd.

 I weigh about 165 pounds just to give you an idea how this pack fits on me. Let me clip this in right here. There we go and you can see. I purchased the medium large backpack and you can see where that sits on my hips and I can adjust the pack there

 I wouldn't want to tear the backpack in bracket, and now I will show you how to put this back in and you can see there that would naturally shapes to your back. The backpack does have a water bladder pouch in it, and the recommendation is that you put the water bladder pouch in before you load your pack, because it will be extremely difficult to get that in there just to show you how far in that goes. Okay and now you can see the water bladder is all the way inside of the backpack and there is a hole there are in fact two holes. One is here, the other one

 Here. It fits very well no problems now you'll notice here the loops here is it's a little bit different system for the hatch, the top hatch loops, but doesn't seem to bother me much. I'Ve never had it fail. That'S been good

 I'M not exactly sure why you would do that. However, the nice thing is with these adjustable straps on the hatch. You can actually raise and lower the height of the pack and hook in your rope, and now I will show you how long it takes to put the backpack back together. Okay, there's one now note: I'm doing this in the comfort of my studio and not on a faraway Mountain freezing, my keister off that gives you a good idea of how that works

Best Mountaineering Backpack of 2022 - GearLab

 Totally comfortable even loaded full of winter layers and snowshoes. Material is lightweight and, so-far, very durable. Adequate amount of attach points, and I love BD's ice axe attachment.

 I would gladly take the little bit of extra weight. I also do not like the slide-through compression straps. Cute idea but its just a hassle.

My old speed pack was great. Very comfortable until 12 kg load, excellent weight transfer to the hips and close to the body. To my disappointment the new model does not have the top stabilisation straps / load lifters that are essential for me to keep the backpack close enough to my body and lift the weight from my shoulders.

First its a very versatile size, remove the lid and you have about a 36 liter pack, the perfect size for a big day out, with the lid and extra collar you can expand this pack into the 50 liter range, enough for a 2-3 day trip.

This is a great pack for year round mountain use

 Now I know I don't. They are just adding weight and option for zipper or inerface failure to that pack.

Price is awesome. If I would rip this pack withing next year, it is still great value for given amount of money.

Pluses: holds a lot, carries a 17" laptop, 3 locking compartments, load levelling straps really work well, sternum strap is movable! Minuses: hip pad, shoulder pads could be better (very good but not great), mesh back would vent off sweat

Great travel backpack

 Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it.  -comfortable carry-on bag that is designed as a minimal backpack. Can be incognito from budget airlines and can blend into a crowd of people in a city without looking like a tourist

 Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes. I was torn between this and the Osprey Farpoint 40L. After trying both of them out, the Tortuga won. Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes

Best Travel Backpack

 Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag. If you don’t have inserts of your own you might want to buy them to help maintain shape structure but overall highly recommended.

I took the 45L bag from the US to Rio and back as a carry-on bag. No issues from the airlines and I had the bag full to max weight with equipment and clothing. Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag
