It's just a fantastic pack, the black diamond speed, forty sauce.

I have a Black Diamond and really like it. Hubby has a Petzl and it's even better as it has rechargeable batteries.

The design is great; lightweight and minimalist, yet all the capabilities that one wants in a climbing pack. Two drawbacks that keep it from being a "go to" pack (for me):

- The pack "carries" oddly if the body of the bag is not full of stuff; hard to describe... the top pocket flops completely o...

I personally hate Black Diamond. I bought a headlamp and trekking poles from BD and they both broke a few hundred miles into my hike. My Osprey pack is still working great after 800 miles and 2 months of daily use while hiking the AT.

This pack has ALL the right features for alpine climbs. Absolutely perfect for a weekend if you've got lightweight gear. The problem is the shoulder strap setup. I have a pair of Black Diamond and a pair of REI, both have been rock solid and come in way under $250. I recommend getting the ones with cork grips, they are much more comfortable.

Got a S/M and it was extremely uncomfortable on the shoulders. Thought getting a M/L would fix this but it didn't. The features are great, you can strap on crampons, axes and poles without a problem. At the end of the day if I'm carrying all that, I don't want to feel like I'm carrying 40 lbs instea...
