I'm 6' 3'', got the wide/long version. It's a bit heavier than I would've liked for backpacking, but I always roll off the standard sized ones at night, so I was willing to deal with a few extra ounces. Worked great with my quilt straps.

 So for a short regular pad I’m looking at 18oz without the stuff sack and the most comfortable nights sleep I’ve ever had while backpacking. This pad is saving my middle aged self while out on the trail. Warm, comfortable and light. I’m in love ❤️

 The sides are a bit higher which keeps you on the pad. It also comes in a short version which is perfect for my 5’2” self. 9. If you can stick it out and save another little bit, I promise you its worth the $200 price tag. even with R-4 sleeping pads I always felt pretty cold, even when it was 45+ degrees out at night.

At first I was considering getting a Therm-a-Rest Trail Scout IN ADDITION TO a Z-lite Sol which (combined) would give me an R-Value of 5.1, a weight of 2.25lbs, and a cost of $100.90 before tax. However,
I quickly realized that using two Therm-a-Rest Z-lite Sols would be slightly cheeper and would be 0.5lbs lighter whilst still meeting my 4.0 R value requirement.
I’m wondering if anyone has used two Z-lite Sols as their sleeping pad before and, if so, would you recommend it or not?? Any better suggestions that would fit a $100 budget? Thanks in advance, y’all!

Using 2 Therm-a-Rest Z-lite Sols as Cold Weather Sleep Pad... Bad Idea?

 This is the regular comes in a regular, wide and a large size as well the regular size that we're taking a look at today, measures, 72 inches or 183 centimeters long and 20 inches or 51 centimeters wide. All of the sizes available are going to be this mummy shape and that basically means that it's wider near your shoulders and head tapers off down near the feet. The outer portion of this pad is made from 70d rip, stop nylon and that's great. It'S a really robust fabric and it's going to help prevent punctures when you have this out in the backcountry now, the d in 70d refers to denier now without going too far into it

 All you four season campers out there now at that price point, it's going to be a little overkill for three season camping, but for anyone who's doing any type of winter; camping. Definitely definitely definitely check out the thermarest neoair x therm. I recommend it hey everyone. I hope you enjoyed the video

THERMAREST NEOAIR XTHERM | THE TRUTH | 1YEAR REVIEW

For nights below 30, this old, cold sleeper uses a 0 degree ee enigma quilt, a thermarest xtherm pad (high R value), a western mountaineering hooded flash jacket, and midweight smartwool long johns and top, with a buff.  Not kidding.

This is for anyone to answer that sleeps cold.  I'm struggling to decide whether to go with a Katabatic 15 or 22 degree quilt. I believe it's listed for comfort temp, so I'm really considering 15 to play it safe. 

I'm also considering a Nemo Tensor Wide since I like to sprawl when sleeping. 

Ladies, what do you for your sleeping systems? I'm trying to stay UL but also sleeping soundly is the best luxury you can have. 

I'm trying to avoid crinkly systems as well to be kind to neighbors.

Ladies: Do you use a 15* or 22* for 3 season bag/quilt? Plus sleeping system

  It's been in the bathtub more than in my pack.  And all I can find are mini-bubble trails, one after another after another and despite patching each one (mostly in the seams) the thing still gets soft while just sitting there.  An explanation/request to exchange to REI got me a robo-answer quoting their return policy - no go after a year from purchase.  I get it, my bad, but I'm writing this to warm future buyers

 You can try and pile gear in tent so it holds pad from turning but still doesn't work good. Let me repeat this buy a rectangle pad. Do not ever think these mummy style pads are good even though i sleep in a mummy sleeping bag. Use mummy sleeping bag on a large therm a rest max rectangle pad

Let me start by saying i used this for backpacking in ultralight on a 3 day hike in for elk hunting. Like most people stated its a little noisy but i was going for high R value and this pad was great for that. Now let me just tell you if your over 5'10 and your tent will fit it get the large.  I've used a couple dozen pads over the years and Thermarest consistently has held up longer than the other brands I've tried. I'm not a fan of the crinkly sounds it makes but I have found it is significantly less loud after 5-10 uses, and really doesn't bother me much. Besides, it's worth it for the features you get. I love the square shape of the MAX version, I feel like my pillow and feet stay on way better than the rounded shape

 I'm giving it 90% chance that when this pad breaks, that'll be where it breaks. Just through normal usage I can already tell that that little corner gets a lot bending and rubbing, and I strongly feel it should be more rounded, or have a flexible rubber or something similar as an intermediate material between the sharp hard plastic and the thin pad membrane. At least Thermarest has good customer service so if/when it does break there, I'm guessing they'll take care of it.

 Besides, it's worth it for the features you get. I love the square shape of the MAX version, I feel like my pillow and feet stay on way better than the rounded shape. I'm a side sleeper and it's thick enough for me to be comfy, I wouldn't want it any thinner but it's been fine. I also really like how the bottom of the pad has a more durable fabric, it definitely feels more puncture resistant

 Good thing the pad still inflates with some lung power. Final Word I love this pad. The combination of warmth, durability, packability, and weight is peerless. Therm-a-Rest is the Ferrari of the sleeping pad world, and the NeoAir XTherm is their show stopper
