  Effectively, as well as being 4k, the selling point of this projector is its colours and how much of the colour spectrum it is able to display. The thing is, increased colour spectrum and accuracy comes at the expense of brightness. If you want to take advantage of it, and specifically if you want to use or get the best out of the HDR mode, then there are things you need to know and consider  The W2700 comes with several picture modes; Bright, Vivid TV, Cinema, Dark Cinema and HDR. and as you go through each of these settings, the colour spectrum widens and colour accuracy increases, but brightness takes a bit of a hit

 Your ability to live with that 'hit' and how much it will impact your viewing experience will depend on how you will have things set up when using the projector. I cannot tell you if your set up will mean things are okay, as it will obviously vary, but I can tell you general principles that will hopefully give you an idea whether you will be able to get the most out of this projector.  The key thing is to maximise the perceived brightness of the projector in the first place, so that any 'hit' in brightness still results in an image you are happy to watch, therefore maximising your options and your ability to access the more dynamic picture modes. One way to do this is to have the projector as close to the screen the image it is being projected on as possible (for picture quality purposes, zoom should be used as little as possible and keystone ideally not at all)

 This projector outputs excellent 3D image, and I do not think there is anything currently out there with the upgraded DMD chip that can do 3D in the mid-segment. The image is consistently smooth and very cinematic.  Overall, I would happily recommend this projector to anyone looking for home cinema projector in this price range.

 They sounded quite satisfying but obviously, you have to keep your expectations reasonable! Talking of sound, the fan is a bit louder than I would like in Normal mode, but is quite enough in Eco mode to be not too distracting.  Finally, one big feature that shifted my decision in this projector’s favour is its ability to do 3D.  However, the Epson 2250 is rather special in 3 ways:  1) is has a useful throw ratio with lots of zoom and vertical lens shift. I find that the BenQ projectors always want to get onto the couch with you. This one instead wants to sit behind your head. It’s not as convenient as a short throw if you plan to move it daily

 3) looks. While it is compact, it is not as sleek as the “E” series like the EF11 for example.  In sum: a great 1080p projector that is actually smart enough to work on its own without external sticks and boxes, connects to WiFi and Bluetooth and that is small enough not to offend in your living room.

 But I think that even apologists for Google will find it hard to applaud the particular stick that comes with this projector. The App Store selection is poor. Most apps regularly malfunction. And the stick (assuming it's the stick's fault) cannot even handle a bluetooth connection properly

 Both options result in consistent, considerable lag, regardless of the app being used, regardless of the speaker being used for output. Unusable bluetooth means that either you are happy to live with the built-in speaker (if you can hear it behind the fan, which is loud), or you have to connect an external audio jack to your speakers, or you have to use an external Roku/Fire stick or Apple TV. The problem is that all those options defeat the point of having a smart projector. You have to remove the (rather pretty) back cover and you're left with cables/sticks poking out -- which is not great if you want to have the projector itself be permanently installed somewhere where it is visibile

Updated: Good compact projector with UN-usable smarts

 (I say lower budget because this thing is still incredible expensive, but it is so worth it if you can't afford one of those $6000 cinema projectors). Get your own sound system, the built-in speakers are okay and unusable at low volume. The features are kickass but as with all technology, there are some flaws, like Wifi connectivity issues, occasional latency issues, slow start-up, and the Hulu app being unusable, but it more for makes up for it with the amount of features it has and the quality of the picture. The zoom feature is the best thing ever

 It says there was an error connecting, but I have super fast Wifi and I have a Velop in the same room as the projector. I have to try again and again for 10 minutes, sometimes it connects, other times I have to turn it off, wait for it turn back on, then deal with it not connecting another 1-3 times. I haven't had that issue as of late, but it happens every now and then. Also, don't even bother downloading the Hulu app, it won't work

This projector is incredible

I spent so many hours trying to find a Bluetooth speaker that works with this. Like what the heck is SCMS-T anyways and why won’t this speaker work with Bose soundboard or UE Boom speakers? So frustrating! And the support is horrible. They won’t even give you a list of compatible speakers.

I'm going to take this chain here and I'm going to put it in the corner, over here, up on the wall, up on the ceiling like this. and then I'm having to have a chain.  This is going to sit behind my chairs and I know if you walk in front of it my ceiling's so low. So whether I get a shelf right here or the ceiling, it really doesn't matter in this room because I can touch the ceiling. So this I think might work and what I'm going to do, I'm going to. I'm going to leave my Tv here and then I'll just pull it down and Boom 120 is what I is, what it's going to do and it's going to be very big picture hopefully

Epson Home Cinema 2250  This might be the best projector to save money. Only $699 as of 12/20

The only reason for this review is to stress the gigantic design flaw here. There's no digital audio output and there's no audio return channel (ARC) on the HDMI port. If you want to use this projector for your home cinema you must connect an audio video source to your receiver. Making the fantastic integrated Android TV completely useless, unless you want to hear your movies from the crappy integrated speaker

Not an Android TV home theater solution

 Ok, I just stayed close to the projector, and I lived with it. After a year, the speaker just broke down, no sound coming out of it at all. Can anyone let me know how do I find the support if there is.
