 um, number five right there and it's really I mean that's kind of like the smallest you could put right here. Traditional Carabiner is going to work decently as well, but I like smaller aspeners typically to attach things to bags like this which I have in the water bottle up here that's not gonna fit too well on this webbing so that's something of note. Two slide pockets on the side. We have this interesting slide lock mechanism here as well

 A little bit more laptop protection here so I can pull that out and just set it down here to the side. mental note not to step on it after I'm done shooting this video. All right, so that opens up. Got a bit of elasticity here, so if you want to throw in like larger items, it's you know, kind of segments this main compartment if you'd like another d-ring on the top here

 It's comfortable. You have some mesh for breathability on the back of the straps here and then on the back panel of the harness system itself too. I Like these strap adjusters, the idea of them a little bit more than the execution and let me tell you why. We have a horseshoe opening that comes from the top here and you can pull it down and really get access to the main part of this bag

ARKTYPE Dashpack Review (2 Weeks of Use)

 It can hold up to a 14 inch laptop and some 15-inch laptops, but there is a dedicated laptop sleeve inside the main compartment, so you do have that one there. You just have a second option to put a laptop in here, but I would typically advise against it because there is another zippered compartment here and then you would be putting your laptop up against this zipper and it could cause stretches for your device. So unless absolutely necessary, I'd keep your laptop inside the one inside the main compartment. But as I mentioned, there is a mesh zippered compartment inside this compartment

 I've got some everyday stuff now. as you can see, there are two zippered compartments here. one opaque compartment, one mesh compartment that's really useful for just seeing what you've got inside. So again, these are Ykk zippers and inside, I've just got my Bellroy Note sleeve wallet, I've got a Moment lens, and I've got my Bluetooth wireless earphones

What's also great about this compartment is that you can see there is dimension built into this zippered mesh compartment, so you can actually pack it out a fair bit if you want to. Over here, we have another small zippered compartment

 Now as you can see, it's got an all-black aesthetic here, but it does have that 210 rip stop nylon which does provide a little bit of reflection at the back. Here we have the padded back panel and laptop compartment here which has a stretchy elastic here to just wrap around your laptop. This is my 13-inch laptop, but this compartment will fit up to a 15 inch laptop. You can see there's plenty of space at the top and a bit on the side for a 15 inch laptop, and the laptop compartment is also suspended from the ground, so that is also very helpful in the case you might drop this back by accident

 There’s a slip pocket at the back where we can put our MacBook Pro from earlier, but that’s really the only segmentation here. For the most part, the main area remains open and free to manipulate through packing cubes and pouches, easily accessible through the horseshoe-style opening.

Given the relative tightness inside, you may think ARKTYPE just left it as just that—a laptop compartment. However, they also put a zippered mesh in there for good measure. It’s really only optimal for flat gear like a tablet, but we appreciate the extra bit of organization. 

Whenever we’re presented with a small bag, we’re more than up to the challenge of tailoring a packing list for it. We’re all about efficiency—being able to pack as much of our essentials as possible into the smallest space possible. It makes air travel more convenient since we can get away with just a carry-on, and it also means we get to focus more on the trip rather than a smorgasbord of gear.

On the subject of the rear slip pocket, you can use it to separate bulky gear, though we find ourselves using it for our laptop since it’s a tiny bit suspended, granting it a false bottom. Overall, you have two choices for laptop storage: the dedicated laptop compartment that’s quicker to access but without a false bottom or the slower-to-access main compartment rear sleeve that’s suspended—the choice is yours.

Actually, I've seen it on a few others, to where you adjust like this, so there's no dangling straps here, you do have to get used to it, and figuring out how to set your thing, but it doesn't move once you're there, it's like, and there's no straps dangling, that's quite nice. My sixth-grader wanted a basic black backpack that would hold all her books/essentials since they don’t have lockers. She chose this backpack and was excited when it arrived. She immediately filled it with everything she needed for school only to realize she couldn’t zip it closed because the zipper had been sewn to the backpack and could not be moved.
