 I've seen over 2000 megabits per second. If I'm standing in exactly the right street corner, not around the block, or in a building, look, 5g is fine. But it's not the reason to buy this phone. So that is the first way to review the iphone 12 Mini, but it kind of misses the point

 technically. I'll explain. Look, let's just talk about this little sucker. [music] There are a couple of ways that I could do this review

 It just feels so much better to hold. It's more ergonomic. I can even reach the control center panel swipe down thing by reaching my thumb up too without contorting my whole hand. I know that it's not like the itty bitty smartphones we used to get back in the day, and I know it doesn't fold in half like the Z-flip or the Razer, but it is still way more pocketable than most smartphones today, and it manages to do all that without making you give up too much to get a smaller phone

iPhone 12 mini review: the favorite

 Every single part in this phone seems to fully check out to apple or simply have not even been replaced.  I even went farther and logged into my apple support. The phone was first purchased in 2020, and hasn’t had a single pop up there for unauthenticated parts either. Further boosting us into loving the idea that this phone is all Apple

I can’t believe how lucky my boyfriend got.

After 7 months with my iPhone 12 mini, I just couldn't get used to IOS. There were enough little annoyances that added up to me wanting to switch back to a Pixel. I switched to the iPhone 12 mini purely for the size. I thought that there was enough overlap of features with IOS and Android that I'd be able to get used to it, but sadly that wasn't the case for me

Phone came in flawless, 100% battery capacity, and unlocked on the Total Freedom Wireless network. This same network uses other networks that run off of Verizon towers and I’m sure it would work with T-Mobile and AT&T as well. Phone also still has some Apple Care time left on it which is a huge plus! Would buy this phone again if I needed one!

Best value for any dollar

With the iPhone 12 mini, Apple impressively demonstrates that a high-end smartphone does not necessarily have to be big. However, the smaller space also has its limits and forces the Californian's smallest smartphone to compromise on battery capacity in particular. Nevertheless, the Mini manages decent runtimes, although the need for charging will likely be required by evening. 

Conclusion - Simply huge, the little one!

 I've had no real performance issues to speak of, minus the odd Ios bug here and there, and although gaming on a smaller screen like this isn't ideal, it does perform very well graphically. That performance does come at a cost, though. if you push this phone with a lot of gaming or a lot of photo or video recording, the battery will take a hit. That's the biggest compromise you're going to run into if you own the 12 Mini

 Picking up a phone like the 12 Pro not only feels huge now, but it also feels heavy at 187 grams. Like I said, the iphone 12 Mini has very few compromises. I'm not going to go in depth on the specific tech specs of this phone because I've already covered that ad nauseam in my full review, but I do want to talk more about how this phone feels to use and the potential compromises you may run into if you decide to buy this phone. As you would expect from a brand new iphone, performance is top notch

 But in our current state of affairs in the world, these are far from normal circumstances. wearing a mask makes face Id useless, and you're forced to use the passcode unlock. In that scenario, I really do wish Apple started using the under the screen fingerprint readers. Or if they're too scared to use that relatively new tech, throw a fingerprint reading power button in there like they did with the new Ipad Air

 I'm not going to go in depth on the specific tech specs of this phone because I've already covered that ad nauseam in my full review, but I do want to talk more about how this phone feels to use and the potential compromises you may run into if you decide to buy this phone. As you would expect from a brand new iphone, performance is top notch.  They're 6.99 for a 128 gigabyte model, and while that is 100 cheaper than the regular iphone 13, you can find an even better deal on Amazon or Ebay on Amazon. I see these going for about five hundred and ninety dollars for a refurbished model, or you can turn to ebay to get a mint condition used one for anywhere from about five hundred and twenty dollars to six hundred dollars. and I would only go for the gigabyte model if I were you

 I think it's great for busy people people who just don't have a lot of time to be on their phone, but they need something small and compact that gets decent battery life.  You shouldn't really need more than that. You can always upgrade your icloud storage, but for this specific model, I would stick to the base 128. And with all those brand new features that you get in such a small compact form factor, I think it's worth that price tag even if you get it new, but especially if you go the renewed or used route. Now, if you currently have a 13 Mini, should you consider upgrading and will there be another mini iphone? Well, we don't know for sure what Apple's going to do yet, but rumors do suggest that Apple will not have a 14 Mini, but rather the new mini iphone will be the Iphone Se in the near future

 Iphones usually have excellent video quality, and naturally the Iphone 13 Mini can capture some of the best video in the mobile business. During the day, footage is great, dynamic range is wide, and colors are lively. The Ultrawide is just as good and it captures some of the best footage we've seen from an Ultra wide so far. There's great parity with the main camera as far as color, exposure and dynamic range are concerned

 The Ultrawide camera shoots some of the widest photos we've seen. The details were okay, contrast was great, noise was low, and colors were very accurate. The dynamic range is well balanced here too. Again, we weren't impressed by how it handles foliage and there's no auto focus here like on the iphone pro models

 Night mode is triggered automatically in lower light. Photos from the main camera looked really nice, exposure was balanced, contrast was great, and color saturation was superb. Detail and sharpness were outstanding as well. The Ultrawide camera also supports the auto night mode

But don’t let the fact that Cinematic Mode doesn’t live up to the hype distract you. The camera systems on the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini are excellent. If there wasn’t also the iPhone 13 Pro in the world, they’d be the best you could get on a phone as of this writing.

Assuming you’re starting with a good foundation, I think the list of what really makes a big difference in phone upgrades is actually short. The first thing on the list is improved battery life. The second is an improved camera.

Video quality is great. The main camera has sensor stabilization, which helps when you’re walking around. It can do all the modes that matter in terms of 4K and slow mo and handles them all super well. 

Just like the battery, the improvement to the wide-angle camera sensor is simple: make it bigger. A bigger camera sensor is able to take in more light more quickly and produce better results. Apple happened to have just such a sensor lying around: the one from last year’s iPhone 12 Pro Max.
