I was a bit hesitant to spend so much on a waffle maker, but my long-standing motto of 'you get what you pay for' overcame me. I also felt a bit odd buying an electric appliance from All-Clad, a company who isn't well-known for appliances, but makes fantastic stovetop cookware. It's made in China FOR All-Clad so those thinking it's USA-made like other All-Clad products may be disappointed. I found this particular waffle maker on the recommendation from Serious Eats

  This thing is seems to be of good quality and actually better than I expected. It's surprisingly heavy, which generally means quality components and even heat distribution. The whole shell is made of stainless steel and looks right at home with other All-Clad D3/D5 cookware. The handle is a nice touch and it stands easily on the backside making it pretty easy to store in a cupboard or something and transport to a countertop when you need it

 I ladle it in, let it do it's thing for 4-5 minutes (until it beeps at me) and the lid goes up, the waffles come out with no fuss, and they're perfect. There's no need for any oil or cooking spray; the grates are truly non-stick and easy to clean. The removeable overfill tray/drip tray is also incredibly nice and helpful. Just remember to clean it when you're done and not to let the batter dry up and get crusty in there

Worth the price if you love waffles

Loved this waffle maker! But today it almost burnt my house down! The timer wasn’t beeping for when it is heated up, so we opened the lid to check it & it was so hot & was making popping sounds! I had to put it in the sink. It set my fire alarms off too! I’m sure this isn’t the norm, my moms has lasted 15 yrs! But I’m so sad mine only lasted 2 yrs… we have taken really good care of it too!

 Recently, though, waffles had begun sticking and I think the coating was starting to wear out. Oh well, it was not expensive and I felt we had our money's worth out of it so I decided to buy a new one.  My wife knows how to cook, but I am actually the waffle nut so all things waffle fall to me. So it is my duty to select a waffle maker

 It is super easy to clean. The waffles do not stick at all. It is small and easy to store. The lid locks for storage

 When it beeps, it's done, case closed.  Clean up is nothing because there is nothing stuck to the plates. I wipe it anyway but it's only because it seems like the right thing to do.  Storage is simple

 It is the one element of impending failure I see on this applicance. I'd have given it a five if the build quality were better than that. Finally, the control panel slants away from the user. It would have been so much nicer if it protruded a bit and was tipped upwards so a standing person could see it

Makes good waffles but not perfect

This waffle iron is easy to use and works pretty well. You plug it in and select a ‘brownness’ level and close the lid. It beeps when it is at temperature, you add your batter, close the lid and it beeps again when its done. It has a reservoir at the back that catches overflow batter - you should practice distributing your batter evenly because it is still possible to overflow the sides if you are not careful

This thing sucks

 I have limited counter space so I get a regular workout - Doesn't cook just like my old one. This means I'm now playing with my waffle recipe to determine just how to make the perfect waffle.  Really, this is the most advanced waffle iron I have owned. I prefer 'classic' waffles to Belgian ones, so I'm very pleased to have an iron I expect to last the rest of my life

 I store mine on the shelf and it makes it easier to move around - Easy setting changes - Easy to clean - Truly non-stick. My old one was wearing thin in that regard - Seldom makes a mess. There's a trough around the waffle making are itself that tends to collect any overflow batter keeping it from spilling out.  Cons: - It is heavy to move if you don't leave it on the counter all the time

I finally got tired of my old Hamilton having no knob for changing the temperature (it came off years ago) and with a toddler I'm making waffles almost once a week, so I decided to step up my game. This iron is definitely a step up.  Pros: - the alert to tell you when a waffle is done/iron is ready. This is great as it allows me to sit down and eat with the family without fear that the waffle is burning - Locks closed

Best Waffle Iron I've ever owned

Bought this All-Clad Waffle Maker because of its size (perfect waffle size for 1 person).  Easy to operate & clean & doesn’t take up a lot of room.  There are 7 different temperature settings, so can easily customize waffle color depending on personal preference.  Like the All-Clad durable design

  I have to make gluten free and egg free waffles. So,the waffle iron has to get hot or you end up with a gooey center. That did not happen with this waffle iron.  The first batch I made I used setting 6 and they came out mostly correct

It works great. But, it's still doesn't do the job my 50 year old cast waffle iron did. I'll probably keep it, but 'm not in love. The waffles were light and crisp, but they are just not the same

  The teflon is getting more problematic. I really dispise the teflon. Waffles are becoming more likely to stick. The teflon is shredding and making it worse

 These came out over cooked, but not burned.  I have to say that the beeper that lets you know when the unit is ready to cook is a real nice feature. And, the beep when they are done is helpful too.  I would guess that if you weren't spoiled by the waffle perfection from a 50 yr old waffle iron, you would be very pleased with this one

WOW talk about a great waffle maker! Great quality and so easy to use. Clean up is nothing at all. I take a silicone pastry brush and brush out any crumbs that might be there.

Smallest Kitchen gadget with Big Results!!

I need to make waffles and freeze them for traveling each week. I purchased one of these, a little hesitant about how well it would perform but I am so amazed that I spent the extra $10 and got a 2nd one for knocking out a dozen waffles quickly.  I've now made literally hundreds of waffles in the Dash Mini over the last year, and every single one has come out perfect.
