It's weird because as I mentioned, overall performance of this laptop is very impressive and far outshines my old 2 core macbook pro, but I don't have the same freezeups on the mac (running windows) - I imagine that this has something to do with lack of AMD drivers or something

Usually, to get a laptop of this size and this 'thinness', with this performance, you'd have to be looking at at least $1000.  I'm happy with this laptop because:  1. It's really light. Not the lightest laptop ever, but it is just so

 Boot time is practically negligible (actually, it's like 10 seconds or less, but this is good time in my opinion). More than likely the result of the combination of a Ryzen 5 processor and an SSD. I picked an AMD processor this time around because for this generation, AMD > Intel.  3

 The performance, build quality and style factor for the price are really good. Recommended.

 Really and truly, this is a very small issue, as they cut back on something that the user could improve on themselves if they really need to - a smart decision, compared to say, only having a Ryzen 3 processor, or only 4 GB of soldered memory without any RAM slots.  Overall, I'm really pleased with the purchase. The performance, build quality and style factor for the price are really good. Recommended

 Also, I really love the size of this laptop. It is not thick and bulky at all. It is very thin and lightweight and is great for traveling and being able to work on the go. Overall, i'm a big fan of this laptop and all it's features

 They do start to look and feel a little bit cheap, considering how much they cost and when you consider the top end 3x has the same pretty average 1080p screen as uh the base swift 3, which costs about half the price from this 1100 or pound. Asking price it's a little hard to swallow and you could get a slightly better spec swift, 5 for similar money, or, if you don't mind going to a mac, i think for most people, the m1 powered macbook air would just be a better buy. Although of course, you are losing out on the xe max graphics, and if you do want to do a bit of light to moderate gaming on an ultra portable laptop, then this is still a good option because of course mac doesn't have the same game library. But i can't help thinking that the swift 3 has maybe just lost its edge a little bit when it comes to value for money

Acer Swift 3 2021 Review - WAIT!

 The charger plug doesn’t fit nicely into the computer. I have to push it in harder than I would like to get it to charge, and I always worry that it’s going to break. However, the battery life is so great that I’ve only had to charge it once in the past three days. I’ll update later when I’ve spent more time with it

This laptop is great! It came in the mail about 10 days ago, but I’ve only started using it in the past three days for school. I’m an English major so I don’t know how it would do for more intense coding, gaming, etc. I’ve mostly been using Zoom, BBCollaborate, and D2L Brightspace for classes (with multiple tabs open, as well as one or two Word docs all at once) and I’ve had zero problems with speed. There was one time when I left it open for a while and it acted like it wasn’t going to wake up, but after a moment it did with no more problems

  The screen resolution is phenomenal.  The setup could not have been easier.  As with all Windows products, you have to disable Edge and Cortana but that is easy to do.  I would highly recommend this computer

 Best damn computer I have ever owned and I love gaming on it that way. It is far superior to  any desktop pc in my opinion and with my needs.

In my opinion, I think it's better to buy gaming pc's rather than laptops because of these reasons:

\- It's a whole lot more expensive

\- It's prone to getting stolen (especially on poor countries like mine) because it stands out more than your average laptop.

\-bad battery life

\- It's also prone to having a smaller lifespan because of some people gaming too much.

\- People saying you're a showoff and a rich kid because you can afford one. I get a few friends who get these types of comments but then, who cares about what they think? But then again it's kind of annoying.

While I like the idea gaming on the go, I prefer to game using my cellphone or Tablet instead. The triple AAA games that I play can wait at home where my gaming computer is safe.

What are your thoughts?

Thoughts about gaming laptops?

I've had good luck with both Dell Latitude and Lenovo ThinkPad in that price range. Depending on where you are, Latitude might be slightly better value for money, since used ThinkPads are more talked about and popular.

Lenovo Thinkpad. The only issue would be the battery life, but you could get multiple batteries since they're not internal.
