Zoom H4N Pro

The H4n pro has of less than -120 dBu EIN which is about the same spec as the H6 and H5. It's a gigantic improvement over older H4N models. There aren't measurements on the microphone noise profiles for each model but in listening the H6 has the best quality of the bunch. Personally I'd say go with a used H6 for around $230.

So I've plugged the 2 lavalier mics into the Zoom H4N, and I have plugged the Zoom H4N into my DSLR using the special wire that connects the line on H4N to DSLR. The audio levels look fine on both systems, however once I go into my editing software (Davinci Resolve), when I drag my video clip, I expected the audio clip to be automatically synced with the H4N. But it comes out with NO AUDIO at all!

If you have a budget that small, the H4n Pro is a great choice. The internal mics aren't bad, and you can use things like Clippy mics for further experimentation.

I guess affordable is relative, but the Zoom H4n or Tascam DR-100 or DR40x all do phantom power and are all very capable, good sounding, recorders. $180 for the Tascam ain't bad for something that can do phantom. If it's just for a single recording / project, you could rent a recorder locally probably.

The h4n pro is built quite well, I can't personally speak to the h1n's survivability. I would recommend you look at some tascam models too, they're often just as good but cheaper. Especially used!
