Pros: well designed, comfortable, reclines well, hefty and well built. There is an obvious difference between this and a 300 dollar chair, despite what some other reviewers are claiming.  Cons: aluminum base arrived damaged with scratches and a gouge, chair started creaking loudly after about 10 days, headrest upholstery is noticeably crooked.  Debating returning based on the out-of-box issues I experienced, but the chair is comfortable and definitely would have kept it otherwise

The chair is easy to assemble. It has decent back support but it’s not as comfortable as I expected. The quality of the materials is okay. 3

 Then on day 3 she told me the chair was just not comfortable. She said it had no padding and she wanted her old chair back. I talked her into giving it another try and a couple of days later another try.  Finally, one day I came out to the breakfast table and my wooden chair was gone and her X-Chair was at my spot

 Checked her office and she was on her old crappy chair and quite pleased.  I returned her chair and with a long gulp, swallowed the $150 they charged me.  So reasons for returning the chair are: cheap uncomfortable headrest and not comfortable due to no padding.  How can you give anything more than a 1 star rating when a beat up office chair not worth $10 is better?  I learned a $150 lesson and hope you don't make the same mistake

My wife spends 8 hours a day in an old office chair. It is a cheap rickety one with only height adjustments. It was left in our house when we bought it because no one wanted it. To sum it up 

 At the end of day 1 she said the headrest was terrible and could find no position that made it comfortable. I removed it and figured I would just bite the $100. Then on day 3 she told me the chair was just not comfortable. She said it had no padding and she wanted her old chair back

 The chairs adjustments are not as marketed and feel cheap. The back support has 4 positions which at the perfect spot should place the lumbar support in the small of the back, it does not. For myself 5'6" or my husband 6'0". The back adjustment is so loose it moves positions with the slightest wiggle

Do not buy this without sitting in it

 On the lawn leaning my back against a tree stump. And yet, I've never dealt with back pain until I tried this chair.  Their "dynamic" lumbar support, ironically is not adjustable. It has one strength setting

 This means that I either sat straight up, in my usual position, with the lumbar support trying to push me out of the chair, or I slouched forward, which gave me back pain because my spine was curved forward.  Bottom line? Don't just sit in this chair before you buy it, see if you can sit in it for an hour or more before purchasing. It felt comfortable when I tried it at the dealer. Fast forward two hours after getting it in the mail and I'm feeling back pain while sitting for the first time in my life

I'm 17 with a decent back, I don't really need lumbar support. For that reason, I expected that it would be great, considering the lumbar support is supposed to be "dynamic" and move with you. While it certainly delivered on that, it is so strong that I got back pain after sitting in it for 30mins.  Do you know how badly a chair has to be designed to give back pain to a 17 year old with no previous back issues? I've sat in wood dining chairs

A solid office chair

I purchased an X3 with foam seat but without the headrest for my home office about 9 months ago. I know from experience that chairs and couches work out best when you can sit in it for a while. These days that is not always an option. I use the chair for maybe 3 hours at a time and it is comfortable and the memory foam seat was an excellent choice
