Wharfedale Diamond 220

If you have $190 to spend on those used speakers with no warranty (I don’t care what the seller claims, if they have no warranty then you should think of them as used) then you are ten bucks away from affording a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 220’s. I would choose those, no question. They’ll have a sound that’s more neutral, probably a bit toward the warm side of neutral, which for most people’s ears is a better bet. I would also probably choose the Wharfedales over the Elacs others have posted here.

Have been using this speaker for 20 hours, it haven't fully break in yet. Anyway, great sound, I like the warm characteristic of this speaker. The speaker just getting better and better from hour to hour. Besides, the look and construction are great as well, feel luxury. Am happy i purchased it.

I'm new to the hi-fi game and so these are the best speakers I've owned. I think the rose gold cones are a nice accent to the rest of my system which is black. My last speakers were budget speakers (Wharfedale Diamond 220) which sounded nice at lower volume but struggled when I turned the knob hard right. These are clearly in a different league.

Outstanding sound quality .Really good base when matched with a good amplifier (Yamaha r n 402d) I've put them on a pair of minify speaker stands bought at the same time on Amazon. Highly recommend both the quality of the speakers and also the stands .

The best under $300 right now are the JBL Studio 530 on sale for $240, Wharfedale Diamond 220 for $250, and Emotiva B1+ for $300. I would not recommend trying to squeeze an amp upgrade into this budget, unless you’re currently having to run the SA-50 high enough that you’re hearing distortion. If you *are* getting distortion from it… the Aiyima A04 is a very similar amp, but based on a more recent generation of amplifier chip.

So far all good. Sound is full and with detail even from mobile bluetooth (SMSL AD18). i will update again after 50 hrs.

But i dont think you will be pleased with those. They got a noticable "smiley face" frequency response. Wharfedale Diamond 220 are smaller and oddly bottom ported.Should sound somewhat similar to the 3030is.

Regarding these speakers... I don't think you'll be impressed. You can find the specs What you'll find is that they will need help in the low end because their frequency response is 75hz to 20kHz, so it means a sub... you can pick up a brand new pair of Wharfedale Diamond 220 for $250 off of Amazon, link and I think you'd be better off.
