The Atriums and Yamahas are built as "outdoor speakers" so I don't know if that has a clarity tradeoff. Any experience with these?

The S15: Polk says you can place it against a wall with their "power port" design but wish it wasn't ported. Is this going to be too muddy?

For my music styles I prefer a flat or warmer sound, not a bright sound, but again 50% of use will be audio dialogue (interviews, etc., not Michael Bay movies).

One thing i'll say about polk is they know how to do bass so very, very, very good at doing bass, [, Music, ], soundstage and imaging the original s15s? I still have them they're upstairs in my daughter's room, wasn't completely impressed with really anything about that speaker. I felt like they were bassy a little bit muddy. I felt like it covered up the mid-range detail and things, so i was pleasantly surprised on how these did now

We've been using built-in TV audio for a long time, and after we picked up a first gen Sonos someone was throwing out and used it on my computer, we both said 'woah', having forgotten what a little bass can do for sound quality/depth.  

We've decided we really want to buy home theater audio for the TV, but after reading lots of reviews, aren't sure what's best for our needs.

We will use it for lots of TV, but practically zero movies.  Minimal music.  So we don't need the cinematic booms or deep bass- it's more about having some bass, and really enjoyable sharp sounds for TV shows (that do often have background music).

Budget is a squishy 800- if we can get something great for our needs for less, we will, but can go over if we found something perfect.  We want to avoid lots of wires/clutter but wireless is a hard no if there is any type of subscription/proprietary app that can be turned off some day.

In terms of room layout, we sit straight on from the TV which is on the wall across from the couch, about 13 feet from us, in the middle of the room, which is about 30 feet long.  High ceilings, and plaster/brick walls.  

Wall mounting isn't really an option and there are lots of things/furniture pushed against the same wall as the TV, so we don't have a lot of space to play with.  http://imgur.com/a/06XOhvp

Best choice for primarily TV Show audio (~800 budget)?

 Been using Polk for 25 years, I don't think you can buy a better speaker for the money. Highly recommend.

  I have been listening to Tidal with the app on my TV plugged into a Denon S760H. It sounds great. Crisp and clean highs, clear mids, the bass took me a while to dial in because the sub is just too big lol. Was able to find a sweet spot where I can still hear the low rumbles and I'm not shaking the walls

  Bought these to upgrade my entertainment center. Very happy overall. You can probably get the same sound quality a little cheaper elsewhere, but these are built like a tank very solid construction and look like they will last a long time. They look and feel premium and modern

 Movies sound great too. Dolby Atmos does give the movie theater vibe when watching movies.  Bought these to upgrade my entertainment center. Very happy overall

Good fronts for a small apartment in a 5.1.2 config

I bought these speakers over the S20's because of the more manageable size of the S15's.  The S15's are the perfect size and sound great in a 2 channel stereo setup without a subwoofer.  I am very satisfied with the sound and quality of construction. They have nice bass, and the sound is not fatiguing to listen too

Great speakers for a stereo setup

 The bass is great, especially for the size of the woofers, but the clarity of the tweeters close the deal. If you are on a decent budget and want some speakers that will blow your mind, buy.

Bang for buck

 The performance of it is just more suited to me another thing else. I might get some crap for saying this, but these to me we're kind of like a poor man's Dynaudio m10. So if you've always wanted that speaker or you've got your eye on it, and it's just way out of your budget check these out and the reason I say these are a poor man's Dynaudio have antennas because a lot of the things I didn't like about the Dynaudio m10. I'm new to the hi-fi game and so these are the best speakers I've owned. I think the rose gold cones are a nice accent to the rest of my system which is black. My last speakers were budget speakers (Wharfedale Diamond 220) which sounded nice at lower volume but struggled when I turned the knob hard right. These are clearly in a different league

I would choose those, no question. They’ll have a sound that’s more neutral, probably a bit toward the warm side of neutral, which for most people’s ears is a better bet. I would also probably choose the Wharfedales over the Elacs others have posted here

I previously posted my setup asking about a dac, but now I’ve realized that my left speaker is blown. I found some Polk RTi A1s listed for 190$ does anyone know if that would be a good fit for this setup?

The 9.1s on the other hand are a great stereo speaker, and as far as I know the 9s, 10s, 11s etc etc shared similar traits in terms of speaker size. 

I will say that they’re fantastic speakers though. The only reason I’d replace mine would be to get some floorstanders, but I’d probably need a bigger house for that so it would end up being a fair expense all in all.

Wharfedale Diamond 11.0 worth USD 160?

If something a little smaller is better, switch the speakers to the Diamond 220, or maybe the JBL Stage A130 (especially if they go on sale for $180 a pair again). Or the Diamond 12.1, which is the current-generation version of the Diamond 220 (though unfortunately Wharfedale’s US pricing on their current models just went up). Don’t get entry level Klipsch for your desk
