A minor criticism is that the aluminized steel takes slightly longer to heat up and cool down than a fully aluminum pan. I usually love USA Pan stuff, but the 8" round cake pan is a disappointment.

These are good solid pans that mostly deliver on its expectations. I can't find any better, although that doesn't mean these USA pans couldn't be improved. They actually ought to be for the prices. There's the problem of the open lip around the exterior, that some have already mentioned

  I like the weight of these pans, as well as the superior non-stick performance. Also like that they've been made in the US. Will update my rating to five stars when the design flaws have been addressed.

 I'm thinking about sending them back but bought them to make a special cake for Easter so don't know what to do as I couldn't get the replacements in time and they might not be any better. I called the company and they said they can have minor imperfections and if I don't like it send them back to Amazon. I don't know if this is a manufacturing defect or the way Amazon packed them with no protection except some blow-ups that didn't do a thing.

The pans are very good quality and very heavy. I bought 3 and the problem is they arrived very poorly packed and 2 of them have rough spots on the rim. I'm thinking about sending them back but bought them to make a special cake for Easter so don't know what to do as I couldn't get the replacements in time and they might not be any better.  I spent a good bit of time reading reviews on the USA Pans products and discovered that the cake pans were also deeper than any I owned...now I was getting excited! I had been wanting to make a single-layer choco flan cake but put the adventure off because my cake pans were all too shallow
