Tortuga brand backpacks. I have a 45L Outbreaker and love it for urban/vacation travel. Their backpacks open like a traditional suitcase, giving you much easier access and packing/repacking ability. I really like the quality and have recommended them to lots of friends.

I really wanted to like this backpack but after my one trip with it, I was left bruised and battered. It is very uncomfortable. While the pack is a good enough idea, roller boards are in my future travel plans.

I personally love my outbreaker 45l, granted I have only used it on a handful of trips, and I am sure there are better bags for the money ($150) but is pretty comfortable. I use as my winter pack and it has enough space for my needs. My only real gripe with it is lack of an actual water bottle holder, but I use a carabiner and one of the side pockets which works ok.

Originally, I bought this pack for short 3-4 trips abroad. Due to Covid I have not used it in this capacity only short car trips to Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. I use the tortuga outbreaker packable day pack for this and it works great. It packs very flat. In you research you should give it a look.

Haven't had the chance to use the backpack yet but it feels sturdy and well-constructed. Straps are comfortable and organization of pockets and zippers is well-thought out. Good size and expansion is definitely a plus. A bit heavy and pricey so hopefully it will last.

Headphones/kindle/charging cable/passport went in the small zippered compartment closest to my back. Fully packed out with all that stuff it came in around 10kg. On the way down to patagonia, aerlinea argentina made me weigh it, but they allowed me to fill my pockets stuff which easily got it under the 10kg. This bag really performs exceptionally well at his price point and I can't say enough good things about it.

Pluses: holds a lot, carries a 17" laptop, 3 locking compartments, load levelling straps really work well, sternum strap is movable! Minuses: hip pad, shoulder pads could be better (very good but not great), mesh back would vent off sweat
