From Hands-On: The Timex Marlin As someone who writes about watches for a living, I know it’s easy to lose yourself down the rabbit hole.

[SOTC] - I dont like diver bezels for some reason
Jeez I’m glad someone finally said it! Don’t care for them either, I think they’re boring looking, and make all the Tudors and Rolexes look really average, and most people never use them anyhow. Not really a fan of Tachys either since 99% of wearers probably don’t even know how to use them. Give me a clean Timex Marlin or a Hamilton Khaki over excessive complications any day.

Timex - Automatic, Great Watch
The media could not be loaded. Got tried of replacing watch batteries in my older Citizen and Wenger (the worst for battery life). So... I decided to go back to the tried and true Timex and I do not regret it. Professional look, non-pinching band (though it is Chinese), a and a clear back (to see th...

[Orient] What’s y’all’s opinion? Too big? Cursed with flat 6 inch wrists as a male
I think trying to shoot for 34mm to 36mm would be ideal, with some 38mm sizes working as long as the lug to lug isn’t too long. Timex Marlin reissue in black would be a nice affordable alternative in a better size for your wrist.

[SOTC] My Daily Drivers
Timex Marlin x Peanuts - Love Peanuts and absolutely love the imagery that is shown on the dial. I know it might be campy, but it just brings me such joy to see this on my wrist. I feel like for the price, Timex could have increased the build quality on the watch itself, like giving it a dome sapphire crystal and make the case a little more robust, but I still love this watch nonetheless.

[SOTC] New Ham. Scuba Added
The Timex reissues are really fun, but the Marlin mechanical movement is poop, running +25 spd, and feels like it may last only a few years without issues. The Seiko SPB185, SPB183, & SPB155 are all 2020 or newer released models. Seiko has done a really good job on these, but QC is still an issue with any rotating bezel model.

[SOTC] My budget watch collection so far: Casio and Russian themed!
I got this one not too long ago and really love it, it is the most comfortable of all my watches to wear and has a great retro look. Future interests include the Casio A500, A1200, DW5600, Timex Marlin, Raketa Big Zero, a Raketa 24 hour watch and a Vostok Komandirski to modify.

Beautiful watch but will have to confirm that it keeps accurate time all the time
Beautiful watch. My 23 year old son loves it and it was a nice Christmas present. He did tell me at first that it keeps time well as long as it’s on his wrist, but when he sets it on a table or something for the night, it stops keeping time. He lives out of state so I can’t see it for myself and he ...
