Sinn 556 I

I am sure at least some of you think about your next watch purchase while scrolling through reddit or hodinkee... here is one you maybe dont have on your radar. The Sinn 556 is still niche and under the radar i guess, but this mother of pearl dial edition is something you wont see everyday, not even on reddit or other watch media. I love mine. Its the perfect watch for every ocasion and could very well be a one watch collection.

I have been collecting on and off for the past few years and have been ruthless with not keeping watches that don’t get worn, the sinn 556 had prompted me to sell my alpinist and do the one watch thing. Honestly I don’t think you could really want for more, it’s expensive enough that the quality is there but not so expensive that it stops you from doing basic things for fear of damaging your watch. I was originally considering an aqua terra but for half the price when dealing with used and a third of the price for new this guy is pretty hard to beat.

I’ve had my Sinn 556 for over 6 months now, and I’m really loving it still. I can’t see it not being in my collection. It’s clear that it, along with many other Sinn watches, is inspired by aviation, the hands and dial match the trim indicators here quite well!. The bracelet is great, and I haven’t found a strap that doesn’t look good on it so far.

The Sinn 556, widely considered one of the best everyday watches for under $2000. This is the first nice watch I’ve purchased for myself and it will be something I pass down eventually. Ever since getting into watches, the 556 was something I lusted over.

I just got the strap in the mail today, and I'm going to do a photoshoot with the watch tomorrow. These are quick shots. I'm absolutely delighted by the Aaron Bespoke deployant; Aaron has a great sense of color, and the pale green stitching compliments the mother-of-pearl without overwhelming it.

I've had that exact variant of Sinn 556 I as well as a Longines HydroConquest. The Sinn wins hands down in build quality.

Sinn 556 will last you a lifetime and is good for every situation they are at the high end of your budget though

Stretch your budget $80 and get a Sinn 556 from Watchbuys.com. You won't get it on a bracelet at that price but it's the best option at $1000 or there about.

My favorites have been Marathon GSAR, Sinn 556, and Sinn 856. While the Sinn(s) felt too nice to beat up, my GSAR is a perfect GADA beater tool watch.
