Gave up on my i8 and replaced it with a Shark - so much better!!
I had a Shark IQ for a year...just replaced it last month. The difference between the 2 is night and day. If it works out for you, that's great, but Shark makes a bad product imo. Even their app is inferior to Roomba.

Shark Roomba
Anyway...Shark is trash. Had a Shark IQ and it was terrible. Constantly got "stuck" in the middle of a hardwood floor, constantly got lost, and the companion app is a steaming pile of dog shit. Ditch it and get a Roomba or any other highly rated robot vac.

This is a poor man's Roomba i7+
The media could not be loaded. I have a Roomba i7+ and bought the Shark IQ R101 for my mother's house hoping that it would perform as good or close to the Roomba i7+. At half the price of the Roomba, I thought it was worth trying it out. Well, you get what you pay for. The Shark IQ is basically a po...

And I need to clean it once every 2-3 days. Researching into new options, during a black friday sale I came across Shark IQ robot; which promises to solve this issue with it’s self cleaning brush… With the price drop for the sale, I ordered it. It works fine, I really like the auto-empty feature and even though its mapping features are less than ideal it’s quite useful. However I still need to clean its “self-cleaning” brushes (again every 2-3 days).

I was happy enough with the Vertex that I decided to order the Shark IQ XL last week, because I liked the idea of a robot vacuum. I set it up last night and started the charge, then began using it this morning. No issues. Started charging right away, connected to wifi no problem.

Shark IQ Robot Auto Empty - THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!
It had successfully cleared all the hair from the brush after the test, and it means that the shark IQ robot is in rare company as very few robot. Vacuums can do that. Let's move on to the navigation tests so, like I said, the shark IQ robot is a smart navigation, robot vacuum and it showed itself to be pretty smart in terms of coverage

The Shark IQ is dim witted.
I had a cheap random motion vacuum robot that worked pretty well. I decided to upgrade to this Shark unit for the added mapping functionality and auto empty. In some ways the cheap off brand unit was better. Negatives: This thing is extremely loud. You won't want to be there when it's working. The a...

So far so bad but improving
Final update: I made the mistake of saying that it doesn't get stuck in my last review and sure enough the same day it started getting stuck every run. it gets to the stairs or the transition between two different color floors and decided that it's cliff sensors are blocked and wont go any further. ...
