Shakespeare Ugly Stik Elite

I just bought an Ugly Stik Elite. I have wanted to get a good ultralight rod since I fished on an old crappy one and had a blast reeling in juvenile salmon and a gorgeous Cutty. I have to say I am very happy with the rod so far, I have not yet had a chance to test it out, but the build quality feels excellent for the price, and it looks very smart. I paired it with an old 2500 Sienna, but I may go smaller in the future when I am not a broke boy.

I picked up a Shakespeare Ugly Stik GX2 spinning combo for like $50 when I was his age. Ten years later that thing is still kicking. It’s been used for salt water fishing and freshwater and still perfect. Definitely recommend.

I have the BPS graphite rod in 7'MH paired with a Penn Battle III 3000 for fishing inshore with lighter lures and swimbaits. Not really a saltwater rod but it's been fantastic, can't beat it for $35. The Ugly Stik Elite is a great all-around rod, if I could have only one rod I'd pick that one.
