Seiko Turtle

It’s a Seiko Turtle conversion case from Crystaltimes with a Seiko NH36 movement inside. I may remove the second hand and place a cap over it’s post as I find the second hand a little distracting. There’s a lot of Seiko mods and builds out there, but this is the only SEYKO I’ve ever seen. It’s a Quality SEYKO timepiece.

I think the Turtle, with its cushion case and vintage looks is the best of the bunch, but I understand that some others may pick another watch from Seiko's mid-range lineup of divers. There are plenty of colors and limtied editions to pick from (PADI, Save the Ocean, Blue Lagoon, etc.) and they look great on a bracelet, a rubber strap, or a NATO. Great outdoor/dive/beater watches all around.

The Seiko turtle is one that I used to really like but would be redundant if I choose to get a BB58. The white Alpinist was an impulse buy; I hardly even wear the green one. The Speedy - I kinda grew tired of it. The staying watches are pretty much the ones that I still really like and/or have some significance tied to life events.

They can be hardy but just be careful because they have a reputation of having misaligned bezels. Don't know what your actual budget is but if you can stretch a bit more, look into the Seiko Mini Turtle and the Orient Rays.

Seiko PADI turtle- I changed the bezel on this watch to make it look older. It's a bit big for me but I wear it a lot in the summer. Looks strange and bulky but it's one of my most comfortable watches to wear.

**Seiko Turtle SRP777**: My watch to go mountain sports. I love its look, its lines, its solidity, its readability, even its precision. I like to wear a mechanical watch during my mountaineering outings, and I think it fulfils this role perfectly.

Seiko Turtle (Nemo) - I modded this last year, blue ceramic bezel, double AR domed sapphire crystal and a Crafter Blue strap. This is my beater watch, working on cars etc - love the bright orange dial. So that's basically where I'm sitting at right now, I WANT a lot of other watches - but finally I'm happy with what I have. I don't feel like I'm missing anything outright that wouldn't get any use.

While I believe it was neccesary to buy those in order to get a sense of what I prefer, I should've saved some money and bought cheaper watches. Orient bambino($150) and the Seiko mini turtle with Strapcode Jubilee($320 + $120). I sold the bambino to a friend for $100, and the seiko is yet to be sold, but in the end it's all a loss on my part.

Thanks. I bought a Hamilton Khaki Field watch last time they had a sale. This time I ended up going with a Seiko Turtle watch. Both were ones I've been eyeing for a while now and I've been wanting to take my watches just a step up.
