Can't go wrong with Seiko. Just replaced my inexpensive, but worn out daily wear Seiko 5 with a Seiko Alpinist, which I love. I also have a 34 year old Seiko my wife gave me when we were dating back in the 80s. Great brand.

Excellent watch and got it for a good price. Anyone who is into watches knows the reputation of the Alpinist. It lives up to the hype. My only gripe is that when I unboxed it, the bezel had a small divot (spelling?) in it near the ten o’clock marker. Not a scratch,...a divot. It looks like it occurr...

I actually have this model but with the leather band and love it. Zeppelin and Junkers are pretty solid imo. Look up Junghans and Depending on your budget the Seiko alpinist, Oris Big Crown were watches I used until I purchased my current daily.

Mine was sold by Amazon and I was relieved to see that it was totally new and authentic. It runs fast by around 15 seconds per day, but anyone buying this should know what they’re getting with this movement. I’m pretty thrilled to have the mythical Alpinist. I am absolutely loving this watch in and out! This is a start of something big and I have Seiko Alpinist next on my list and then Omega Speedmaster after that. Comments are highly appreciated. Thank you guys for inspiring me to go for an automatic watch.

It wears great due to the absence of the lugs. Seiko Alpinist (sarb017): I got on the hype train back in 2016 and bought it along with the metal bracelet.

Sorry to be a party pooper, ‘cause I know this watch is popular and well liked. It didn’t work for me. I fell in love with it when discovering it out here and do like and respect Seiko a great deal.
