I play a schecter stiletto 5, never been a metal player. Mostly I live in the jazz, funk, and salsa world. I like it because it extends my range downwards without having to rely on the open E string and lower positions - if I'm mid-to-high up on the neck, I still have access to my E-string pitches without shifting down. It's also great for Merengue and Timba music!.

I’ve been using a Schecter Stiletto 5 string that I got used for like $300. It works great for what it is but I’ve been considering an upgrade for a little while. I’ve never really considered short scale basses but I recently saw a friend play a Gretsch JJ (I think that’s what it’s called) and it sounded awesome.

Great sound awesome feel, be warned you may have to adjust the tension rod and bridge a bit I had a lot of drag and had to make adjustments. After setting it up it had a great and amazing sound and feel.

I've been dying to try one of those neck through Schecter Stiletto Studio basses for a while. If you can, try one out at a store and let me know how it is. It's a little under $1000 before tax too.

This is possibly one of the greatest basses on the market for a great price, and it looks stunning. Definitely highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new bass

I know it isn't fancy, but I enjoy the Schecter stiletto 5. It fits my medium hands well and it has reasonable tone flexibility.
