The only external ssd’s approved for the bmpcc6k are the Wise and the Samsung t5. I made the mistake of ordering a t7 at first thinking it was newer and therefore better. Improved write speeds, but smaller buffer—couldn’t record. Make sure you’re using a proper drive.

I'm assuming that you mean the Samsung T5. I have a T3 and a T5, and you're right, they are very impressive. The advice you've received about making a complete backup copy shouldn't be ignored. They do have a longer life than older SSD versions did, but they don't last forever.

The storage capacity is fine and it is very lightweight and small. Load times are just as fast or if not faster than my Series X (Since the games top at 1440p on Series S graphically) and I havent seen a dip in performance in games I play. Sure the image isnt as razor sharp or as pretty as my Series X but thats quite alright, the performance is there. I have my Series S paired with my 1tb Samsung T5 SSD, to run all non enhanced games, and have had no issues.

EDIT: 2//7/2020 Dropping to two stars. Avoid this SSD, not worth it at all unless it drops to something like $50. I’ve done exactly the same recently, using a Samsung T5 that it’s set to boot from. It’s massively sped up my system and I would heartily recommend it.
