Rtings.com called this out in their review and it almost scared me off, but if you have a medium-ish room, this subwoofer should be enough. I also tried out the Samsung HW-Q800a (same soundbar with bigger sub) and the Vizio SB46514-F6 (HUGE sub), and I found both of those had too much bass - I had to turn down their subwoofer volume levels to the minimum in both cases. I found the HW-Q700a's subwoofer to be adequate. You may not be getting as wide a range of low frequency sounds, but it's not "in your face".
