 More stuff can go in front panel not really using it except to put my mouse in there because I always forget and that's about it on the main compartment. As you can see, the zipper is pretty good and I think it's going to get better over time. The ring flap is in the weight just a tiny bit, but certainly not as bad as some of the other bags that we have seen these few years. The two vertical pockets one side have a able carry pouch in there and this is just a bunch of snacks and on the other side [Applause] it's David's teammate pouch from David

 Great club but it's very busy right now because there's a couple of delay flights and I have taken the Remo Equipment Alto 31 for a first trip. This is a four night five day trip and I'm a light one back traveler and this bag so far has been pretty good for packing so I have it down in the smaller size. The row top is all the way down to the tightest shape I guess so this is the small size is probably I would say maybe 22 or 27 liter. I'm not sure but I'll look it up later

 Most of the item is in the main area and let me open this up so you notice that I'm having a little bit of problem getting the zipper around the corner, but once it's through the corner, it actually zips very very easily. Alright, so this is the unique thing about this bag is that even though it's a row top, I have this front panel access. This u-opening is not very big, but it does work. Simple packing mug is always useful

Since then I've looked more into bags and tried some and have narrowed down my criteria (and pick up some new ones too), but still haven't been able to find a suitable one. I believe what I'm looking for prob doesn't exist, so there is something wrong with my expectation, and would like honest feedback from you baggers.

My aim is to travel few weeks at a time, and care the most about comfort (don't wanna deal with back and shoulder pain and looking for a place to sit every 20 minutes again a week into a trip). I'll spend most of the time in cities, with some day hikes. I spent hours looking at and trying bags at Patagonia, North Face, MEC and a few other stores with backpacks, but couldn't find something that I liked.

This is what I gathered:

* Many travel bags are made at or near 45L. I personally find those too big and know if I buy one, I will fit it all up and end up with heavier gear.
* Shoulder pads on a lot of the 30Ls aren't any different than the 20Ls, and they rarely have hip belts. I found this very confusing, why make a bag that if fully loaded would be uncomfortable on the back and shoulders? Are you not supposed to walk around for long with those?
* Top loader bags mostly lack a decent organization pocket outside of the big bucket. They also usually don't have a side zipper to access the bucket from the side. I found undoing top straps + unrolling the top and/or uncinching + diving in the bucket to grab something quick too clunky. But they seem really nice for long hike or camping. They tend to have nice back support.
* Suitcase opening bags make for a really good experience if I were to stay at one spot for days at a time. But jumping from one hostel to another, or wanting to grab something quick when there are no external pockets is also clunky with these. This is less of an issue if there are other decently sized pockets on the exterior. They tend to have less back support.
* It's important to try a pack in person with weight. All these bags feel different, and are organized differently. So if you're gonna carry them fully loaded for any significant amount of time, I suggest trying on in person as opposed to buying online.

I'm looking for a bag that:

* Isn't too small nor too big. I'm looking for a backpack in the 30-35L range to bring in on a plane. Anything larger is too big and bulky. MEC had great selection for 45L+ for outdoor activities, but those are way too big. All my clothing that I will have in the bag will be 15-20L, so I find anything less than 30L a little too small.
* Is comfortable enough to walk around for a couple of hours. So
   * Has decent shoulder straps
   * Gotta either have load straps, or hip belts or both. Or at least hooks for optional hip belts.
   * Hip belts that are the same material as a seat belt don't count, those felt more uncomfortable than supportive. 
* If it's a top loader or suitcase style bags, it should not have the "clunky" design I mentioned above.

Nice to haves:

* Hip belts are either not huge, or can be removed/rotated to take less space when not needed.
* Smaller pockets for quick access, ie not just one big bucket
* Laptop storage (almost a necessity for longer trips)
* Straps and rings on the exterior to hook/carry items on a pinch or a jacket, etc
* Some structure to the back piece

At the end of the day I want the bag to be comfortable. Do you have any suggestions? Am I looking for something too specific?

Looking for a 30-35L backpack for traveling

 [Applause] So just keep that in mind and once it's stuffed, it's really easy to just roll back down, cinch back down because there's a lot of buckles here. Just be careful. I've seen some people accidentally attach the compression strap buckle into the roll top buckle and they're not the same buckle. They will not fit and you might break your buckles so be careful

 [Applause] So like I was just talking about, we do have this one top accessory pocket here [Applause] which is where you're actually going to want to steer store your air pods and smaller axis items. It won't fit a Kindle, at least it didn't fit mine, which I like having quick access to. It's just this mesh material in here tonight. It's a nice mesh

 You have two compression straps on each side. I believe these were not buckles on the V1. I did not have a V1, so I can't compare it directly. I've toyed with them before, but I've never owned one, so I don't typically use compression straps for compression on a bag this small

Basically I am looking for a backpack with dedicated laptop and maybe even tablet pockets, which also has features of a hiking backpack. (Compression straps?, comfortable back system, sternum strap, many pockets for this and that…)
So far the only one I could find in that category is the Osprey Nebula, but amazon reviews seem to complain about quality issues in long term use.
Any experiences with it or alternatives are appreciated.
Do you know or have any bags that are suitable for the office but offer some technologies of hiking backpacks as well?

 So originally we just had a single loop for a bike lamp or tail lamp. Uh, now we actually realize when we're hiking and our water shoes are hanging off our bag, we kind of like having them dangling underneath the bag. You could attach them to the top, but you know, maybe all that muddy water be running down inside your bag so just more attaching points down low made a lot of sense. Uh, you'll notice the water bottle pockets are lower down on the bag as well

I’m searching for a new EDC bag and wanted some of your opinions. What do you carry? What is your favorite EDC bag? 

I’m currently carrying a 14in MacBook Pro in a very protective case. iPad mini, notebook and I’m a pouch person. And typically a jacket at all times. Most certainly not a minimalist. 

I have my eyes in the Aer Flight Xpac or City Pack. Currently using the Boundary Supply Erent Pack - which is great but I prefer a different opening now.

What’s your favorite EDC bag? Need suggestions.

 You know you just got a lot of straps dangling all over this thing, but that's really because of how customizable it is that all these straps are needed. So let's get into some of these straps. So on the top here you have they call this the brain so this is a actual kind of separate piece here. so as you can see it unclips from the front There these can be adjusted, really extended and then on the back of it to the brain can be stretched this way

 Here we got a little hip belt, not too much, it's just a piece of nylon webbing going across. This is removable so if you don't like it you can just take it off and it won't get in the way or anything, but it just adds a little bit extra support, not too much and you got these nice strap keepers here. keep everything tight just so it's not. You know head doesn't add to the extra straps because this bag can be a little strapped heavy

 and then each side has little straps to just kind of keep it from bouncing around too much. So if you are not using it with a hydration bladder, you know you can just store a carabiner on these or otherwise they just lay flat and out of the way. So I'm inside here. If you have it fully open, you can see on either side we just have these little mesh pockets

 It's not jostling around and it's just extremely comfortable. Now the one thing with the harness system here, the sternum strap is just okay. You know you have this sort of clip set up so you can only adjust it between these points here so you don't have you know if this is too low, that's too high, you don't have that in-between And also with this clip style, these can just kind of pop off as you're using them. Now with this particular bag, we have not had that problem, but it's just something to note that we have seen in other similar clips to this and then just down at the bottom

Most of the things that I had are points of note that are not deal breakers, and honestly, neither of these negatives are deal breakers. But it was really hard to find something to say negative about this pack because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can put a few different morale patches on my bag so all in fit, feel, finished, comfortability

 You could do a lot with this pack. It fits in a lot of different settings. Again, it was very, very comfortable to wear even with that weird wonky looking back panel. The back fit and felt great while wearing it

 remove hip strap or webbing. Uh yeah. So basically going over all the things that we went over already, then we have our access or top our side, our front access to the pack. It's showing you the passport pocket, the security pocket that's against your back, so that's going to be nice

 I don't know what the Mcb ones came in and they did only have a single loop for a blinky light. Um, but I do know there's a few other differences. I believe the straps are a little bit different from the V1 or the first production run, but for the full real use review, I'll do my homework and I will get all of the main differences. But I mean this thing is crazy
