Don't get me wrong, the sound of the Rat has always been great. But switching it on, you lose SO much volume and low end...at least, with humbuckers, you do. I don't use single coils, so I wouldn't know about that. So, for live sound, it's out. But, for tracking, I could definitely see using it. Ver...

A Dunlop Crybaby Wah Wah could be fun if you like rock and metal. A ProCo Rat 2 Distortion is a great first distortion pedal if you don't like the distortion options available with just your amp. A Small Clone/Neo Clone or Boss CH-1 chorus might be fun if you want things to sound wiggly and underwater. A more basic delay pedal like a Boss DD3T or an Electro Harmonix Canyon or Ibanez Analog Delay Mini would be a good introduction into the world of delays.
