Boss DS-1 is my default answer but it really depends on what type of distortion you want. I’m not sure of the exchange rate but I believe a Wampler Tumnus is within range. A used Archer is also in that range. Also consider the Soul Food.

I’ve heard the best ones are the Boss DS-1 and DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedals. The price difference implies there’s quite a difference between the two but I don’t understand what that is. I’m trying to mimic the sound of the electric guitar solos from RHCP, Nirvana, Sam Fender and Declan Mckenna (particularly his song Basic (regurgitated)).

I really like this little box. It gives a nice distorted sound when I want to play some of the newer rock songs. I mainly play a strat copy with real Fender pickups. Hi, I love Frusciante. If you get a new amp, which is the most important step IMO, and want to get into pedals, get a Boss DS-2 pedal. It does Frusciantes distortion and solos pretty perfectly. Buy used :)
