It usually takes about 20 seconds to react. now it's blinking red and I guess it gives you a chance to rectify the error and if nothing happens in about 15 to 20 seconds, then an alarm goes off and then you know something is wrong. There you go and then it goes off every 15 seconds until you either switch that back on or switch this off

Good for the price, but the range is not covering all our appartement so I have to keep the receiver in a central area (we have a big flat with thick walls). It is ok as my son is bigger now and I bought it when he was 6 months but I guess I wouldn’t have completely trusted it with a new born. You won’t actually hear everything in the room. Basic monitor

I bought this to replace a VTech system that the batter was horrible and the sound wasn’t very loud. I am not super impressed. I’m not sure exactly what the point of the sound turning on and off is or if my set is possibly defective? I play music when my son sleeps and it’s very annoying to hear his music and then have it stop and after a minute or so hear it again on and on. I like the simplicity of the unit and the design but hate the sound cutting in and out

This has an “energy saving mode” which is probably the reason, but I haven’t used it unplugged from the wall cord so it’s a bit frustrating.

 Amazon was very helpful in giving me a refund to apply to a model that appears to have the function but a correction to the comparison page will have to go through channels so be aware.

This product arrived today. I ordered it to monitor my mother with alzheimer's. We bought it to replace another brand monitor that had reception issues. Consumer Reports says this brand has far superior reception

I think for the price, I'd expect a longer life for this basic audio monitor. Worked okay while it was functional, then stopped connecting altogether/wouldn't turn on at about 27 months. Am going with another brand for replacing it.

This unit is slightly better than some of the other awful monitors we've tried, but it falls far short of its promises. Without adjustable threshold, you simply cannot know that you are going to hear who or what you are monitoring. As it is, you turn up the volume until you think you can hear anything that goes on in the room. Then you walk away only to find out that you are not hearing anything in the room because the noise abatement feature has shut off the speaker and won't turn on again until it hears something loud enough to trigger it

 This unit needs a threshold adjustment; without it, it just doesn't work properly. We are trying to monitor my mother, who is a falling risk. If we do not hear her get up, it can be dangerous for her. This monitor would definitely be triggered by a crying baby or by someone audibly asking for help, but it is not sensitive enough to pick up the sounds of Mom getting out of bed and walking across a room
