 We don't use that feature much, but I have heard of other parents loving it. Eufy has included a feature that sounds good on paper, but the real life application of it is a bit intense. The space view's sound activated alert lets you set a volume threshold where the monitor will alert you, with a very obnoxious alarm, if there is a loud noise detected above a certain level. Maybe this is a good feature if you're a very heavy sleeper and have trouble waking up with normal noise, but in our experience it was way too much

I'm due with my second soon, and as my first baby monitor has started to break, I'm in the market for something with two cameras that I can have going in each kids room. Now, we bought a Vtech model with two cameras, but the battery life is awful (only using one camera so far) and it loses connectivity CONSTANTLY resulting in beeping alerts in the middle of the night for no good reason.   


I've only been around monitors that have a dedicated parent unit, and have no idea what it would be like without one. My biggest concern is that I want continuous audio monitoring in both rooms. Is there anything even LIKE that??  


If you have a wifi monitor that connects to your smartphone, does audio play continuously through your phone, or will I get beeps in the night waking me up to every little grunt , or my toddler talking gently to himself, not knowing if it's worth turning my phone on for? Any advice is SOOO appreciated.

What is having a wifi baby monitor like?

 I have upgraded to the latest hardware and software version. In testing VOX in my 3 year old’s room, small sounds with the camera 6-8’ away from the bed aren’t picked up. You have to sneeze, talk, or yell. A tap on the nightstand or a snap of the fingers will not wake up the camera

 Did I say that correctly? But after using the Eufy, technically for the benefit of YouTube's logarithm, it's called the Eufy space view baby monitor. But for me, after using it for a bit of time, my unwavering devotion to Wi-Fi monitors is beginning to crack. Just a teensy bit. The Eufy is a non-Wi-Fi connected monitor that utilizes a parent unit to connect to your camera's video feed

 In fact, let's whip out that bespoke scale of mine again for a quick weigh in. And I also gave it the skinny jeans test. The Eufy installation is super easy to set up. No logins or pairing of the camera, parent unit with your wifi network needed

 However, the white noise will only play for about 30 minutes. And it's also worth noting that when the white noise is on, the Vox and the sound activated alerts features will not work. Similar to the infant optics baby monitor, the Eufy comes with a detachable wide-angle lens. When the lens is attached, the field of view expands to 110 degrees, which doubles the default field of view

They charge on top of their product to access the info, they charge a massive annual fee as well as the $300 cost to get the full system (sans a measurement sheet like wtf on that). It’s cute for spying on your little one and inaccurately measuring them.  Overly sensitive motion on or around the crib. Sound feed back is off the wall. I got to hear a fart loudly blasted through my phone speaker honestly the Nanit does a great job at this.  And the breathing wear seems cool until normal use shows that it doesn’t work. Then once again let’s look at that premium for the app

One of the the most insane things is that they charge so damn much to add additional pictures stored in the app. Or memories as they call it. Pay the smaller amount to store up to 50 images/ memories. Only 2 parents/ support system, orrrrr have up to 10 for  $79/year

  The other big flaw of this item is that every little movement around the crib will trigger an alarm, including: sunlight shifting in the bushes outside, walking past the crib, the add playing in-between hey bear baby crack videos, me crawling around doing tummy time with the little owl. 

  It’s supposed to using guided images on a breathing belt tracks your baby’s breaths per min, and is supposed to alert you if breathing stops. 
  Yesterday I woke up and fed Oliver early, he would have been back to sleep in moments.  I rocked him and burped him, as he was drifting off the no breathing alarm went off.. roughly 35 min after the breathing stopped and the band was simply in the crib not attached to a breathing baby. So I shut off the alarm put him back in his band and went about my middle of the night ass crack of dawn self. But it lead to the following experiment: quickly swap breathing baby with non breathing owl toy during a parent check in. The swap went smooth. However 9 min after the swap the alarm still hadent gone off. Now it’s  not advertised that it will save your babies life. But they give a strong illusion that it does. Which is gross.

   This worries me because parents are out there thinking that this will save their baby. It won’t. It will tell you 30 min later, that’s way too late.  It’s cute to look at a sleeping baby, inaccurately measure their growth, have notifications as your whole tired half naked self reaches in and out of the crib in the middle of the night for feedings looking like you just rolled around in bed and haven’t showered in a week, because well babies. If you’re okay with all that buy this product. But don’t do the extras. This is the only item I regret buying as a first time mom. 

  If I were to get the chance to re do this if stick with the weird pulse and position thing. It clipped to his belt and did a great job tracking. Sense-U, we didn’t notice the same issues with it, though others have reported it. And for motion a wise camera. Will store 12 second clips (or more if you pay, 1.99/month per camera) but you can save your clips on here too. And for the measuring aspect…. A tape measure…. For sound the regular old baby monitors are great and classic, and now many have an option to chime back.

Must vent about nanit! A product review 2/5 stars

Good, not Great

 Sometimes I feel like it triggers when there's hardly any sound (and I've been awake listening to hear it), and other times it doesn't trigger until baby is really starting to get loud, so that's not ideal... however it works well enough for us to do the job

Edit: 6 months in now, frustrated with audio inconsistency. I want to sleep and be awoken if baby starts making noise. The sound alert feature is almost useless. Another frustration - I thought I liked the micro USB power connector, but it's way too sensitive

Battery Life kind of sucks

  I’ve had the unit for almost 3 months and really wanted to like it, but between the signal issues (the biggest problem) and the antenna, I am looking at returning it.

Not bad, but the monitor needs work

 The only thing we didn't like about the set up is that when the battery is on low it makes a very loud beeping sound from the monitor to alert you and will continue to do so off and on until you plug it in. Sometimes it was in the other room and would wake baby up from the beeps. We've had it a little over a year now and suddenly the monitor stopped showing picture and will only play the sound. Oh I also would have loved if the camera had an option for just white noise instead of all lullaby songs

We're still debating whether or not we'll repurchase, because if it goes out again then that's almost $200 every year in cost
