They feel good, the price is good, it's really a home run.

If you want a nice warm tone then I reckon Maple is the way to go. For your budget, might be worth checking out either the Tama Starphonic Maple or maybe a Pearl Masters Maple Reserve snare!

That Pearl Masters Custom 7-piece is looking like the best deal to me. As long as it's not all power toms that's probably the direction I would go.

All major manufacturers make lower to higher level drum kits so really it’s about sound preferences and cost based on wood type, metal vs wood, hoop types, number of lugs, depth, ply thickness and the main musical styles you’re going to play on it. But in general 20 lug, die cast hoops and a standard snare depth of around 5” - 6” are a good thing to shoot for a first snare. Personally I like maple and have a Pearl Masters Custom 20 lug maple snare and it’s been a beautiful sounding snare that won’t break the bank.

I own a Pearl Masters MCX fusion in the gold sparkle and I adore it still. It doesn't get played as much as it should, but I would strongly point you in that direction.

Tama 100%, i had a Tama superstar before my Pearl Masters and it was entirely adequate. Tama just make it quality stuff in general.

6 piece Pearl masters maple easy $1000 USD. The cymbals are all pro quality, sold separately Zildjian A and A custom sell used for around $100 to $150 each for the crashes, $150 to $200 for the hi hat pair, and $175 to 225 for the rides. Can't tell what that Sabian is but I see another $750 to $1000 worth of cymbals. I say you could get $2000 for everything if you break it down, or you could ask $1500 for all and it should sell pretty quick.
