Panasonic Lumix G9

I own a Lumix G9 (micro four thirds) and a Canon Eos R (full frame). The G9 is my favorite camera EVER. Every feature you can think of, quick auto focus, excellent video features, and great ergonomics.

The 4k 60 fps on this camera is AMAZING... BUT.... there's a limit of 10 minutes when recording this way... not great for literally anything.

I had high hopes for the G9 being a long time MFT system user. Unfortunately, the four-thirds sensor still hampers the beautifully built G9 with excellent handling and controls. For animals and landscape you should also consider the Lumix G9 or Olympus M1 MkII. Weathersealed cameras with IBIS and great portability.

5/5 for the G9 body. One of the bigger M43 cameras no doubt, but it handles well, has amazing stabilization, makes great images (for the format). - As I mentioned, you *really* want to use Panasonic lenses with this. Unless you've got money to burn, I'd highly recommend the 24-105 f/4 lens to start.

I've only had it a week (replacing a G7), and still waiting for good weather to try it out but these are my first impressions:

- FAST. Takes bursts so quick it's hard to take just one in burst mode

- Good feel in the hand. Finally a place to rest my pinky.

- Great EVF

- Better image quality - but no...

I personally would not recommend the EOS M50 as it is worse in low light than the Panasonic, it loses the advantage of having good AF if you record in 4K, it has no IBIS and it isn't weather-sealed and there aren't a lot of native lenses for the system. Personally, I think Panasonic offers more for less, but if you need good AF for sure, then get one of the Sony cameras.
