Then I started thinking of it more as a gimmick but now I'm solidly in the camp of the S1R Baton 3 being very useful for specific, yet common, use cases. My wife claimed this one for purse duty and I can see why. Looking at the future, I hope Olight makes an 18650 version with a 21700 cell in the case. That would ve more my speed and also add the emergency preparedness use case.

If it's not too embarrassing, what is your most disappointing flashlight purchase?

I am not a tint snob at all, but that tint was beyond disappointing, and is the only tint I have ever seen that I have found truly unacceptable. * Olight Baton 3. I just sorta assumed it would just be a S1R II with a better driver or emitter. Instead, it had no lanyard hole in the light (only in the clip), could only use Olights proprietary batteries, and had an obviously worse tint than the S1R II as well.

I ordered an Olight Baton 3 because of how small yet powerful it is. It was over $60 which tells me it’s not a total piece of garbage. I know the proprietary battery bugs people but I don’t really mind it as I have a streamlight stinger and its worked fine for 2+ years.
