Best 1440p Gaming Monitor choices

I've done a bunch of research on this over the past couple days and ultimately landed on the MSI due to reviews, especially the contrast. Haven't received it yet but at $450 from B&H it wasn't that much more than other options and seemed to be top tier without going over $700. I was REALLY tempted by the the Lenovo deal for $300 after cash back on /r/Buildapcsales but ultimately stuck with the MSI.

Great laptop, but a few design flaws

Mid range gaming laptop from an established company, USD $1200

I currently own an MSI GS63VR 7RF Stealth Pro and when there is (inevitably!) some horrific problem with it, it always takes 40 days and 40 nights, as well as 40 men, to decipher how the damn thing works. I would just like a laptop that I can take to a Best Buy that doesn’t make the IT guy cry. I literally have been begged to never go back to the one place I used to take all of my laptops until I get a new one.
