Marmot Fortress 3P

The famed Marmot Fortress 3p. What can I not say about this kick ass 3+ season light winter, fall and spring tent?. The Fortress is known as a "full fabric canopy" double walled tent. This provides several advantages over a traditional 3 season mesh walled tent (like the Sierra Designs Meteor 4p I showed before).

This tent is very easy to assemble, and it kept me dry during a downpour that drenched many of my fellow campers. However if you had a bigger budget I would say just buy a Marmot Fortress 3p since it will hold up to cold weather, wind and snow way better than most 3 season tents.

I always recommend getting the tent footprint to protect the foor. I also recommend replacing the tent stakes with Marmot tents because they are bent easilly, are heavy and don't ha e that good of holding power.

Had it out once so far...it kept the rain out just fine. It's a bit heavy for a backpacking tent, and a bit low-roofed for a car-camping tent, but it works. I wish the door zippers weren't symmetrical; as it is, the rainfly only really works one direction.

If you want something that goes into more than just 3 seasons, but not fully 4 (snow and all), look at Marmot Fortress. It has much less mesh than other tents, hence able to keep you warmer than 3-season only tents.

I bought this about a month ago. I haven’t had it outside yet thanks to the Coronavirus but I set it up in my basement and it appears to do everything I’d like it to do. I do wish the vents all had screen over so they wouldn’t let bugs in.
